Eastleigh ask the league to see if their 7 second opening goal ‘broke a record’ – went 2-0 up a minute later and were 4-0 up by half time.

The Spitfires wanted to know if the National League could investigate whether their opening goal scored during their New Year’s Day clash against Dorking Wanderers is a record breaker after being left stunned.

Alfie Lloyd put the hosts in front at the Silverlake Stadium, scoring after just 7.12 seconds on Sunday the 1st of January, and even put a time counter on the goal video itself, which you can see below…

Eastleigh won 4-0 against Dorking with two goals coming in the first two minutes.

It was only 7 seconds into the match when Alfie Lloyd grabbed a ball and lobbed it over Dan Lincoln to go ahead.

The hosts doubled their lead after Charlie Carter’s goal from the edge of the penalty area went in off the post.

Carter hit the hit the upright for a second time after 12 minutes following a good run at the Dorking defence, however they couldn’t prevent the third goal which came seconds later when Lloyd crossed for Carter to head home.

The result means that Eastleigh are now into the playoffs, sitting 7th with 35 points from 25 games played while Dorking Wanderers are 15th with 30 points from 26 games.
