Dorking Wanderers fume after player Brennan Camp gets punished for an ’empty water bottle’ throw, publishing a video of it too.
The National League South side criticised the FA for issuing the defender with a £900 fine, for chucking a empty water bottle too far, which the club insists was accidental.
On the 17th of April, Dorking Wanderers FC tweeted: “UPDATE: BRENNAN CAMP EMPTY WATER BOTTLE THROW
“We do not agree that employing a KC (Kings Counsel) to determine whether Brennan’s over throw of an empty water bottle was intended or an accident is a good use of all the money clubs and fans put into the game – RT if you agree.
“FYI – found guilty and fined £900. Pls RT
“A young man loses a weeks wages for throwing an empty water bottle too far, by accident. The FA showing why so many clubs and participants have lost faith in them.”

There was plenty of social media reaction as Dorking Wanderers fume after their player gets punished for a ’empty water bottle’ throw…
@Airmiles23: This has to be a wind up they are not serious???
@GeorgeWillams96: That’s no accident but also takes an absolute muppet to report that
@Matty_Neumann: Ridiculous overreach by the FA. But more importantly a reflection on the inflation on wages in the NLS. 900 a week should be league 2, we have become to receptive to inflated wages. Look at the average NLS wages 5 years ago…
@TerryDu99655959: Just shows you that some people these days are snowflakes and just want to be get players into trouble .
@Stuart_Covey: Fucking embarrassing. Whoever reported this needs to give there head a wobble!! 😡
@AdesSurrey: How about a ‘pound for camp’ collection tomorrow…that should sort it 😉
@britman71: What a waste of everyone’s time. The club, investigation, court. All for this. It’s nothing but an accident.
@Jameskhan699923: Pathetic from the fan. You can bet he was verbally abusing the player. Little weasel. Would be embarrassed to show my face at a ground again
@worthingred1: Nice of you to mention on how much money he is on 😉. But tbh a bit overreaction this from the FA.
@LeeCotton1: Looks like he meant to throw it behind the goal but accidentally put a little too much on it.
@NConstantinou89: Whoever reported it is a weapon, IMO looks intended so a slap on the wrists and a small fine I’m fine with, would Haaland be fined a weeks wage at 400k… No! Unfair to penalise to that extent should be on a sliding scale % wise. Looking forward to the game tomorrow, Wanderers 💪
@matthaff: Pathetic and a waste of everyone’s time and money.
@JLamps79: A loopy underarm throw of an empty water bottle which clearly lightly ricochets of someone’s arm. What’s the precedent for £900? Just made up on the day. Absolutely incredible from the FA and the fan reporting it.
@StuartElliott79: Pathetic… it’s an underarm throw… has Horsham got a bowls team this person can go and watch….
@Byehorse: Pay it for him then? The FA are obviously a shambles, but your club does keep them extremely busy.
@1899GM: If a player did this against Dorking you’d genuinely never hear the end of it and that’s a fact
@Dale_Harris14: Absolutely pathetic for that to be getting reported, or for it to receive a fine or any sort let alone £900. But it definitely needs to stop being described as an accident. There is a clear communication from Brennan & fan(s), and he’s over thrown the bottle by some margin
@Brand_No_7: Agree an over reaction but why does the player lose a week’s wages. If it’s so ridiculous Marc White can shout him the money, right?
@_georgeplank_: This has to be a joke? £900 fine. 😂😂😂😂 Embarrassing
@past_sunderland: Game’s gone. Clearly tried to throw it off the pitch, not at the fan.
@S_Bryce: As a Horsham fan I can’t believe that. Look like a missthrow. No fine surely.
@AdesSurrey: Absolute insanity. You can clearly see he just overshoots a gentle underarm throw to the touchline. That Horsham fan – and the FA should be ashamed.
@NathanTBatWaver: Not a chance this was accidental. He looked at us before doing it. If he wanted to throw the bottle away, he’d have thrown it sideways, not up.
@murphystanacc: How the FA can actually happily implement this fine is unreal
@murphystanacc: Incredible. £900 for the wind taking a bottle. Not thrown at anyone. Simply taken by the wind
@Benny__H: He knew what he was doing
