Fans took to give their thoughts on the sentencing and whether they thought it was the right decision…
Bloke at my work got done for drink driving. He doesn’t get booed everytime he clocks in, and wasn’t sacked. Strange that, ‘cos @CrazyDaveMOTLUFCMad said that “in any normal job….”

For the level of alcohol and reported substances in their systems…how easily they could have killed numerous people that night – this is a disgrace. Whether they are footballers or not, the drink/drug driving penalties need to be so much worse than this.

That’s a good lesson to kids, become a professional footballer and you can get away with drink driving and endangering human lives ?

The judge must have been drunk

@GrahamForbes11: Wonder how many people on here have never made a mistake in their lives. Stupidity itself what they did,could have killed someone. But at the end of the day they didn’t,hope they regret what they did for the rest of their lives. Everyone deserves a second chance.
@_DAVlES: That’ll teach them ? bet they still play the weekend
@mdot89: Whilst in the real world they would have gone to prison
@dingdinghopkin: Absolute joke
@stephenescott2: That is an absolute joke, if a regular person done that, we would be put in jail, the law is one for them and another 4 us, they supposed to be a role model
@biteyourlegs: They should have done time in Prison. They are role models and this proves a rule for the haves and a different one for everyone else.. significantly over the limit, left the scene of a accident and left someone injured as a result of the crash… utter bullshit from the courts
@TaylorGurney7: People saying they’d of gone to prison if they weren’t footballers need to get a grasp of what goes on in life. Think what they got is about right
@jordanthomas95: While Jordan Stevens is banned from making any contact with his club for six weeks for making a few bets.
@scrowe150: Absolutely disgusting sentence. Tom Lawrence’s excuse was his Mothers death, so he turned to drink, sympathise about his mother, but I lost a 14 year old son, I didnt turn to drink.

I dont condone these actions at all but do feel that the judges sentencing was fair especially as no one actally died thank the lord
Wonder how many people on here have never made a mistake in their lives.i know personally of at least 3 police offers admit drink driving BUT KEPT THEIR JOBS People high up in the NHS Similarily who still kept their jobs both professional people who should have known bettèr Stupidity itself what they did,could have killed someone. But at the end of the day they didn’t,hope they regret what they did for the rest of their lives. Everyone deserves a second chance.n Tom’s case the grief caused by losing someone so close like your mum is different for everyone my mum died almost 20 years ago my last living adult relative and I still think of her every day and yes I started drinking to numb the pain if you’ve never been in a situation like that you cant explain it as I say i don’t condone what they did
