Dave Challinor was left angry as Stockport throw away their lead with their former player Antoni Sarcevic scoring a winner for Bradford.
The Bantams staged a comeback to beat the Hatters 2-1 and go 4th in the League One table, 10 points from 4 games, and remain unbeaten, while Stockport are 8th with 7 points.
Owen Moxon had put Stockport ahead in the 16th minute, dominating the first half, but substitute Will Swan came on and got one back for Bradford shortly after the break, and Antoni Sarcevic, on his return to his former club, scored the winner in the 72nd minute
Stockport pushed late but couldn’t find an equaliser, but Bradford goalkeeper Sam Walker put in some stunning saves yet again.

Stockport County boss Dave Challinor told BBC Radio Manchester: “What we’ve done is absolutely shot ourselves in the foot by another lack of concentration from the same person that cost us the same goal in a play-off semi-final.
“For it to happen is inexcusable. That then changed the momentum and we never really wrestled it back until the last 10 minutes.
“It’s the cheapest goal… If it hadn’t happened previously in a moment that hurts us here in a play-off game, then you maybe go ok but for it to be almost a carbon-copy is nowhere near acceptable and can’t happen.
“You look at the last seven games of last season, we conceded the first goal and didn’t lose one of them.
“I think last season we started in a similar ilk to this. There were things where we put ourselves in leading positions and didn’t go about it in the right way.
“I wouldn’t say we did that tonight. We put ourselves in a leading position and then not done our jobs. That’s a big frustration and it will change.”

Bradford boss Graham Alexander said, per the club website: “It was a really tough game, but that is what we expected coming here.
“Stockport are a strong side; they ask a lot of questions of you.
“We had to dig in, but at the same time, I thought we carried a real threat going forward. The goals came from good pressing and sharp play, that is what we want to be about.
“We are only a few games in, but every point matters.
“What I have seen so far is a group of players who want to work for each other. That gives us a great base to improve further.
“It is about consistency, recovering well, and making sure we are ready for the next challenge, but after this performance, the lads deserve credit for the character and fight they have shown.”

Here’s how fans reacted, with Dave Challinor angry as Stockport throw away their lead with Sarcevic a scoring late Bradford winner on his return to his former club…
@JBrannan11: That save is another classic from Sam Walker. Ridiculous stuff. Up the Bantams.
@jackieneufville: Fantastic second half. Keeper was immense. Well played to the squad.
@docko6: Fair play to you lot. Not sure how we were only 1 up at half time but second half you were much better than us! 2 teams I’m sure will be up there end of the season!
@allmoshnopit: Walker motm without a doubt
@MarkBCAFC: Excellent 2nd half. You could see it in GA’s eyes going in at half time. He knew what he wanted to change and the players executed perfectly. Also I have seen a reply and it didn’t go in at the end.
@_paul1978: Absolutely unbelievable second half. Should have been 4-0 down at half time. Great subs and half time team talk from GA. What a turn around! Really didn’t see that coming on the 45 minute mark!! Fantastic!! #bcafc
@aidan_bcafc1224: Hardest game of the season so far and weve shown we can compete in this league im really hopeful for this season now
@bcafc_ben: What a team. What a keeper. What a manager. WHAT A CLUB!!
@R0bbyV: Unbelievable result should’ve been 3 or 4 down at half time then what a performance 2nd half well done GA
@bcafctalhah: Two things to take from that massive win. 1. Van Dijk wears Curtis Tilt pyjamas. 2. Graham Alexander proving to us why we sit in the stands and he’s on the touchline.
@MattBcafc_: Early doors, but people having us for relegation are gonna look proper fucking daft, what a team
@JoshSpruyt: One of the best goalkeeping displays I’ve seen – Sam Walker wowwwww 🤩 fucking YES City! #bcafc
@niall143: Talk about a smash and grab first half to a different team on the second. Nuefville, Power, Tilt are gods gift 💪 Tilt is summert else what a fucking steal 🔥 Walker I’m losing the words 😍🤣
@Jabotelli_: Could’ve EASILY been 5-0 to Stockport at half time. How on earth have they managed that? Unbelievable second half 😮💨 #bcafc
@JChappers94: Every time I think we can’t achieve something more special, this group delivers once more. Inspired stuff in the second half, GA got it absolutely spot on after half-time. Nice of them to put the replay of Walker’s save on the screen at full-time for us 😅 🆙🤬🐔 #bcafc
@TomRyko: That second half was ridiculous, wonder what the hell GA said to them at HT 🤣
@jack_thompson11: This team. No fucking limits. Some start to league one life this 😍 #bcafc
@KSBCAFC: If that’s not the biggest game of 2 halves I’ve ever seen idk what is. First half absolutely dominated lucky not to be 3/4 down. Second half tactical masterclass from Alexander perfect subs in perfect timing. What a feeling around the club atm. Long may it continue 😍#bcafc #lg1
