After Sol Campbell left his role as first team manager of Macclesfield Town yesterday afternoon, we’ve taken a look at who are favourites for the job at Moss Rose.
He had eight months with the Silkmen and successfully leading them to safety last season, now they have mutually agreed to part ways with the club 8th in the League Two table.
The side has suffered off-field financial problems with players revealing they considered boycotting the final game of last season in protest about unpaid wages after they were paid late for three consecutive months.
They claim that they will make a further announcement on appointing a new coach as soon as possible.

6) STEVE DAVIS
Steve Davis was last manager of Leyton Orient back in 2017, though after the club won just five of their 19 league matches, he was sacked on 14 November 2017.
He also managed Crewe Alexandra where he won the 2011/12 League Two playoffs and Football League Trophy in 2012/13.
Davis led Nantwich to two promotions in three seasons and a FA Vase victory, just missing out on promotion to the Conference North at the end of the 2008–09 season.
His first job was player-manager of Northwich Victoria, but he resigned.

5) RICHARD MONEY
Richard Money was most recently manager of National League club Hartlepool United however announced on 23 January 2019 that Money was to take a senior role overseeing football matters strategically and that first team duties were to be passed onto the club’s director of football and former manager Craig Hignett. After just five days in the role, Money departed the club after being verbally abused in a fish and chip shop.
Money has previously managed Solihull Moors, Cambridge United, Luton Town, Walsall, Scunthorpe United and varius overseas clubs.
He won League Two with Walsall in 2007 and the FA Trophy in 2014. As a player, he won the European Cup with Liverpool.
His playing career between 1973 and 1990 saw him at Scunthorpe, Portsmouth, Fulham, Liverpool, Derby, Luton and Portsmouth.

4) NEIL ASPIN
Neil Aspin was most recently the manager of Port Vale, but in January 2019 stepped down from his role in as first team manager after 15 months in charge.
He won just once in 12 games in all competitions with Vale sitting 18th in the League Two table, six points above the relegation zone.
Vale survived, the controversial owner Norman Smurthwaite left and then club have since been taken over and seen happier times and ticket sales on the up again.
Aspin has also managed FC Halifax Town, Gateshead and Harrogate Town as well as had a playing career with Leeds, Port Vale, Darlington, Hartlepool, Halifax and Harrogate.
