Coventry City went a one point closer to the Championship playoff places following a goalless draw with Swansea City.

The Sky Blues was closest to finding a winner with Gustavo Hamer, Matty Godden and Andy Fisher both being denied by the Swansea shot stopper Andy Fisher.

Mark Robins’ team fall to ninth place in the standings, but still managed to reduced the gap to 6th place to just three points.

Swansea’s best chance saw Harry Darling waste a good effort. They remain 15th after going three games without losing.

Swansea’s Russell Martin: “I thought it was a really good game, I thought it was two good teams. They had two really good chances in the game, but ‘Fish’ made two brilliant saves. I’m really pleased for him today, and that’s two clean sheets in three now. We created some really good chances and the lads are really frustrated we haven’t won the game, which I’m pleased about.

“On the whole, I think both managers will think they could have had three points. At the end, Morgan Whittaker had a big chance. He just had to try and throw everything at it. The thing that’s got us through it is courage and conviction. The energy was great, we started the game so well and we started the second half so well. The energy’s been great all week in training and the fans created another wonderful atmosphere.”

Coventry’s Mark Robins: “It’s a decent point. We have got to take that if we can’t take the chances we had,. Swansea are a brilliant team – I think they are really good. They play in a way that is clever and they have got some top technical players. They are a technical team, but they have quality as well. The way they play can flummox you, as they did when we went 3-0 up against them at home and then drew 3-3.

“Tactically, we got everything right and it was a real good performance out of possession. We’ve kept a clean sheet and we have picked up a point. We are three points away [from the top six] and we’re still in with a shout of gatecrashing something and making it a really special season.”

Social media users reacted as a Coventry fan tries to fight Swansea supporters with one steward struck in the head…

@swanseacleaning: Then he pointed out Swans fans who hut him to the police, yet he jumped in and got done. Serves him right.

@SwiftyR90: What is the point of going to a football game and having a fight, just don’t get it. Ban them.

@GoalsCov: Pathetic

@superman_R6: Swansea fans again today proving themselves as thugs and horrible people. Ignoring the fight mid game. Throwing coins and other object throughout the entire match (myself being hit) and starting on families outside the ground post game… Horrible set of fans. Some not all?

@scfccarwyn: imagine their fan jumping in our end being our fault, shameless 😭

@Ciaran__SCFC: Nothing about the twat that climbed over the barrier to then get sparked 🤣

@EllisRoberts06: Your fan passes the Police/Stewards, walks over into our end, gets battered by a Jack and it’s somehow our fault? Idiot. #Swans

@JamesSCFC_: Your fans jump in our end to fight but we are the horrible people? grow up😭

@ScfcTobyyyyy: classic case of chat shit get banged at football, your fan jumps into our end causing a fight then got beat from what looks like a youngster

@Jordan_SCFC95: Your fan jumped into our stand and got decked by a kid 😭😭😭

@Welshade: Coventry fans are a bit scummy aren’t they , what’s that guy thinking coming in on his own 😂#Swans

@DI93_: What’s got the Coventry fans so riled up? That muppet who jumped the netting very quickly regret it didn’t he?! #Swans 🦢

@NotSY22: Hit in the back of the head from a coin by our own fans wtf is wrong with people! #CCFC #PUSB #SWACOV

@rhys_scfc_: Highlight of the game 😂😂

chrisj19891: The thing is you don’t know why he acted that way, a Swansea fan abused a young child calling him fat and made him cry this is why he jumped over

Sky_Blue_Dreamer: Namely all our fans cos the SAG probably had a collective orgasm at the thought they have a reason to shut off another block to keep fans apart. Fucking annoying when pricks do this, then undoubtedly complain about the amount of segregation at the ground.

pusbccfc: They were singing ‘Lizzie’s in a box’.

Neath_Jack: Pretty much everyone in the East saw it I’d imagine. The Cov fan wasn’t expecting that lol. He was then trying to point out the chap that clumped him to the stewards, before he ran off under the concourse.

Mork: There were families on both the Coventry and Swans side of that fence and he frightened the life out of them all. It wasn’t that type of atmosphere and I hope he gets everything that’s coming to him
