Commentary at Oxford v Bolton and Salford v Colchester go viral leaving fans amused after watching the two videos from the weekend.
We start with the game at the Kassam Stadium with Bolton’s promotion hopes boosted by a 1-0 victory, thanks to an early Dion Charles goal.
This was only the Trotters’ second win in seven League One matches, and a defeat for the first time under the new manager Liam Manning has Oxford just above the relegation zone on goal difference.
Wanderers’ perfect start was completed when Northern Ireland international Charles scored from 10 yards out in the 7th minute.
Simon Eastwood was unable to parry Conor Bradley’s cut back on the right, and Charles had the opportunity to score his 22nd goal of the season.
Oxford was looking for its first win in fifteen games but lacked confidence and gave the ball away repeatedly in the opening 30 minutes.
Before half time, there was huge controversy when Oxford forward Kyle Joseph was knocked down by the keeper James Trafford in a race to the ball.
The referee Sebastian Stockbridge only gave Trafford the yellow card, when the home fans had called for red with the commentators stunned.
Oxford improved but couldn’t find an equaliser in the second period, with Joseph and Marcus Browne both missing their targets.
COMMENTARY FOR TRAFFORD INCIDENT:
Ball. Tackle. Good boy. Good challenge, that. Towards the ball. Skews towards Kyle Joseph, who’s taken out by the goalkeeper. Trafford’s got to go here. It’s a straightforward decision for the referee. Oh, my word. It’s a straightforward decision for the referee. And I’m afraid, on first sight, I feel he’s got it wrong. It went forward from Ciaron Brown. It was one on one. There was, in my opinion, no covering defender. It was a straight forward goal score opportunity. If it’s in a penalty area, you’re wondering whether it’s a penalty, you’re wondering whether it’s a sending off or not. But outside the penalty area, just looking at there play, it is the most straightforward sending off ever. Is it because the ball is going out towards the corner flag, Joe? I don’t know. I think it’s a straight red, obviously. I don’t think the ball is going with enough power, because he’s just dinked it over the goalkeeper and it’s stayed in block. I think he just stays on his feet and rolls it in. The keeper is so committed. That’s unbelievable. That is a massive, massive decision. That isn’t what is made there by Seb Stockbridge. And I think he’s got it wrong. Yeah, you haven’t got your yellow tinted glasses on, have you? But no, as he goes through the ball, ball doesn’t even go out of the area. The ball doesn’t even go out of the penalty area. It’s not that. It’s just a wrong decision. And spun him up in the air. You’re looking at it for the referee. You think some of these calls are really difficult. That’s not a difficult call, it’s straightforward. Fleming is going to score. Someone’s going to score it. Fleming, with the free kick through the wall. Keepers, who should necessarily, not necessarily be on the pitch, makes a very straight forward save. Frankly, an outfield player could have saved it. That’s a massive call. And it’s the sort of call that, in the end, can make the difference between promotion for Bolton, can make the difference for relegation for Oxford. It’s a massive, massive call.Ask the other guys for their thought.
Some of the best commentary you’ll hear all weekend🤣🤣🤣#bwfc pic.twitter.com/G5c55IjFTe

“I have to be careful what I say. The performance from the referee was atrocious,” Oxford boss Liam Manning told Oxford Mail.
“He just got too many wrong today and when you look at it, clubs will suffer and jobs will suffer. There’s so much on the line – you can’t referee a game like that, it’s terrible.
“I thought he had a huge level of arrogance about him. I thought he was terrible in terms of how we conducted himself.
“As bad as the (Trafford) decision was, it woke us up. That first 25 to 30 minutes, you can’t start games like that. We have to take the game to the opposition, especially here.”
Meanwhile, Salford v Colchester also had people laughing with that clip also doing the rounds on social media.
Colchester’s survival chances were boosted by a victory over Salford in the League Two, thanks to Noah Chilvers’ first-half goal.
The home goalkeeper Alex Cairns made a good save to deny John Akinde in the first minute. Colchester came close again when Chilvers’ effort from outside the area hit the post at the six-minute mark.
Salford’s first attempt on goal came from Luke Bolton whose first-time shot at the far goal sailed dangerously over goal.
The U’s led in the 22nd minute when Chilvers received Samson Tovide’s cross just outside the box, and fired a deflected effort that rolled over Cairns’s head and into the net.
Matty Lound’s header off Ibou Touray’s cross was just too wide for Salford. In the first-half time stoppage, Colchester goalkeeper Tom Smith made a save from Cally Hendry.
Salford tried hard to equalise in the second-half. Matt Smith’s near-post, glancing header from Touray’s corner spun just inches wide. Conor McAleny’s first-time shot flew over.
Smith made a great save to deny Elliot Watt, and Chilvers headed Theo Vassell’s header over the line. Colchester held on for victory.
COMMNETARY FOR INCIDENT AT SALFORD v COLCHESTER
Back chance to take it round. It’s a cheap free kick. And that’s just blatant cheating from the Colchester fall-back. It wasn’t touched. And when it is just so blatant cheating, it’s a frustrating one. It’s halted. First change, Samson, to beat walking off applauding all four sides as though he’s some sort of hero, which he definitely isn’t. Freddie Sears will come on in his place. Colchester cheating the way to another win here. It’s a thrown in throne taken back to Cairns, 5 minutes. That’s a joke. Joshua’s called Greenwich there with his flailing hands, making an absolute meal of this yellow card shown to Hendry. I don’t want to be bitter, but Colchester have cheated the way to that, that’s most disgraceful second half performance by a visiting team here at the Peninsula Stadium all season.

@StephenJCme: This commentator deserves a medal for trying so so hard to keep his opinions in check- incredible effort.
@CurtisYxtes: Has to be one of the clearest reds I’ve seen all season, referees can’t be trusted to do their own jobs, losing respect, evidence provided
@Staceywestblog: Watching this, then hearing the name at 1:10 and going ‘of course it is’
@CMerrills22: Does he drop the C bomb at 1:12?
@Tony_Stevenson: How much money has he put in the refs pocket.. That’s a joke.. The standard of refereeing in league 1 has been shocking
@glen_snowy6uf: I’m a Bolton fan. It wasn’t a pen, but it was a straight red card !
@SwillMith123: Was definitely the wrong decision but I’ll take it ahahaa 😂😂
