Chris Sutton‘s Premier League score predictions for this week have been revealed and as always he’s joined by a guest.
The BBC pundit replaced Mark Lawrenson in trying to correctly pick the correct scores for every game against a variety of guests.
Nottingham born Chris Sutton played as a striker for the likes of Norwich, Blackburn, Chelsea, Celtic, Birmingham, Aston Villa, Wroxham and England, before managing Lincoln City.
For this week, he takes Jake Quickenden and his JamieJohnson FC co-star Ella. AI predictions are also generated using Microsoft Copilot Chat.
LEEDS v BURNLEY
Chris Sutton: The Burnley fans never really seemed to take to Scott Parker but his biggest problem was Sunderland and Leeds being more competitive than the Clarets as promoted clubs this season.
Burnley are down and searching for a new manager, but Leeds go marching on together – they have had an outstanding campaign under Daniel Farke even if their performance against Chelsea in last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final was disappointing compared to their recent form.
If Leeds lose this, then it is squeaky bum time for them with games to come against Tottenham and West Ham, but they won’t mess up.
For me, this is the result that will secure their safety. Yes, there would still be work to do, but if there ever was a gimme this season then it is playing Burnley at home.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-0
Ella’s prediction: Burnley are already relegated so I am going to back Leeds. 2-0
Jake’s prediction: A win won’t mean Leeds are safe but they would take a huge step towards staying up. 1-0
AI’s prediction: 2-1

BRENTFORD v WEST HAM
Chris Sutton: What a superb and much-needed win for West Ham last week against their old boss David Moyes.
The Hammers have been building momentum since the turn of the year but that result was down to a mixture of good football and good fortune – Matheus Fernandes nearly caught the ball in his own box but Everton somehow did not get given a penalty.
Brentford were unlucky not to get something at Old Trafford on Monday but they are still right in the mix for the European places, although Igor Thiago needs to find his shooting boots again after a disappointing night against Manchester United.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-1
Ella’s prediction: West Ham really need to win this one to stay up. 1-2
Jake’s prediction: Brentford are going well but I still think West Ham will get a point. 1-1
AI’s prediction: 1-2

NEWCASTLE v BRIGHTON
Chris Sutton: Newcastle still need a point or two to make sure of their Premier League survival, which is not something anyone expected to be saying about them come the start of May.
I do think the Magpies have enough points already – they have 42 and the most third-bottom Spurs can get is 46 – but I also don’t expect them to add to their tally here.
Brighton are on a roll and look strong candidates for sixth place and European football.
I am backing them to win, and for Danny Welbeck to notch again for the Seagulls and finish the season as the top-scoring Englishman in the Premier League – he already has 13 goals this season, the same as Morgan Gibbs-White at Nottingham Forest, two more than Ollie Watkins for Aston Villa and Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Leeds.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-2
Ella’s prediction: Newcastle are not in great form but they are at home which should help. 2-0
Jake’s prediction: Brighton are going well too and Newcastle are struggling a bit, but I agree with Ella about Newcastle being at home. 2-1
AI’s prediction: 3-1

WOLVES v SUNDERLAND
Chris Sutton: I’m maybe being foolish here but I am backing Sunderland to respond after their shocker at home to Nottingham Forest last time out.
Black Cats boss Regis le Bris would have been ‘Regis le Bristle’ after that woeful home display, and his team looked like they were on the beach.
To continue the maritime theme, Wolves have looked like a fish out of water for most of this Premier League campaign.
They come into this game off the back of three straight defeats without managing a goal, and I can see them floundering again here.
Sutton’s prediction: 0-1
Ella’s prediction: Wolves are down and Sunderland have had a really good season. 0-2
Jake’s prediction: Yes, Sunderland to take this. 1-3
AI’s prediction: 2-0

ARSENAL v FULHAM
Chris Sutton: I was at Arsenal’s game against Atletico for Radio 5 Live in midweek, and they were mugged in Madrid by referee Danny Makkelie.
Some dodgy Dutch decisions have cost them, and let’s hope they don’t pay the penalty in next week’s second leg of their Champions League semi-final because they should really be taking a lead back to Emirates Stadium.
Before then, Mikel Arteta’s side have to switch their focus to the Premier League title race and nothing less than a win will do for them here.
Arsenal are not a free-scoring side at the moment, which is a worry – they are just not clicking in the final third.
But, with what is on the line here, I am still backing them to get the job done with a clean sheet and a goal – or maybe even two.
Fulham have had an excellent season under Marco Silva and they are in the race for the European spots too, but Arsenal have the best defence in Europe and their strength at the back will help to get them over the line here.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-0
Ella’s prediction: If Arsenal want to win the title, this is a must-win game for them. They will have to go for it a bit too because they need to beat City on goal difference. 3-0
Jake’s prediction: This should be comfortable for Arsenal but I still think they will end up drawing one of their remaining games, and that will probably be what loses the title for them. 4-1
AI’s prediction: 3-0

BOURNEMOUTH v CRYSTAL PALACE
Chris Sutton: Bournemouth are unbeaten in 14 league games and have only lost twice at home all season – their fans must be wondering whether life will be as good when Marco replaces Andoni Iraola next season.
This is proabbly a good time to play Crystal Palace, whose minds will be on their Europa Conference League semi-final with Shakhtar Donetsk.
It will be close, but I am going for Eli Junior Kroupi and co to edge this.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-1
Ella’s prediction: They are both pretty similar teams, so I think a draw here. 1-1
Jake’s prediction: Palace are a hard team to beat. 1-1
AI’s prediction: 1-1

MAN UTD v LIVERPOOL
Chris Sutton: Apart from the future of both managers, it doesn’t feel like many people are talking much about either club here, which feels odd before such a grudge match between two old rivals.
It’s impossible to predict how this one will turn out. Manchester United were lucky to edge past Brentford on Monday, while Liverpool got a good win over Crystal Palace to take a bit of heat off Arne Slot.
Bruno Fernandes has had an outstanding season for United, and Liverpool will need to stop the Portuguese Pied Piper from leading them a merry dance.
It looks like no Mohamed Salah for Liverpool after he went off injured against the Eagles, but Alexander Isak scoring in that game felt big for him and Liverpool after he has had such a stop-start campaign.
It could be that an individual – either Bruno or Isak – steps up again to win the game for their team, but I am going for an entertaining draw.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-2
Ella’s prediction: United are doing quite well at the minute and Liverpool haven’t had a great season. 2-0
Jake’s prediction: We are going to win this, and I’d really like Michael Carrick to stay as manager next season too. He has brought some passion back – the players seem to trust him and he has got them playing well – plus we can’t keep sacking people all the time. 2-0
AI’s prediction: 1-2

ASTON VILLA v TOTTENHAM
Chris Sutton: Tottenham probably need to win three of their last four games to stay up but, although they finally won in 2026 when they beat Wolves last week, I am not sure it has given them any momentum.
It was a huge result for Roberto de Zerbi’s side, but you have to remember Wolves are woeful and Spurs also made hard work of their victory.
What helps Spurs here is that Villa have their Europa League semi-final against Nottingham Forest to contend with over the next few days.
Even so, I still feel like Villa will be too good.
This defeat will send Spurs one step closer to the drop, and a trip to play my old club Lincoln in the Championship next season.
Sutton’s prediction: 2-0
Ella’s prediction: Spurs are struggling but they really need a win if they are going to stay in the Premier League, so I feel like they will be up for this. 1-2
Jake’s prediction: I’ve gone for Villa to win but I still think Spurs will stay up. 2-1
AI’s prediction: 2-2

CHELSEA v NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Chris Sutton: Interim Blues boss Calum McFarlane said we shouldn’t question their players’ character after they won their FA Cup semi-final against Leeds last weekend.
That was a good performance, but everyone saw that same group down tools and throw the towel in against Brighton a few days earlier, in a defeat that led to Liam Rosenior losing his job.
Off the back of those two games, how can anyone predict what we will see from this Chelsea side?
Nottingham Forest, in contrast, are on a roll with the goals suddenly flying in for Vitor Pereira’s side.
They are also in European action this week but with Chris ‘the Woodchopper’ Wood back up front, I can see them chipping away at Chelsea and earning another valuable point.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-1
Ella’s prediction: Forest are on a great run. 0-1
Jake’s prediction: I am going with Forest too. They’ve had some brilliant results. 1-2
AI’s prediction: 2-0

EVERTON v MAN CITY
Chris Sutton: Manchester City have got some momentum, and come into this game off the back of six straight wins in all competitions.
Will they keep that good form up, though? The Hill Dickinson has not been a fortress for Everton this season but I can see them making it difficult for City, and being hard to break down.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Everton picked up a point but with City’s front four of Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki, Jeremy Doku and Antoine Semenyo in such good form, I am going to say they will find a way to win it.
Sutton’s prediction: 1-2
Ella’s prediction: City to take this one… and we are going to win the Prem! I’m feeling pretty confident about the title race – I believe in the players, I think they can do it! 0-2
Jake’s prediction: Everton can be tough to break down but City are on a roll now. Cherki is probably one of the best players in the world – I’m a United fan but I love watching him, he brings back what we all want to see in a player. 0-3
AI’s prediction: 0-3
