Chelsea fan Steve slams Todd Boehly during a protest over the exploitation of fans loyalty which was held ahead of the West Ham game.
Supporters made their voices heard in a passionate protest on Monday, which took place outside Stamford Bridge before the Premier League fixture, saw thousands of fans gather to express their discontent with the club’s ownership and current state of affairs.
Chelsea and West Ham fans united in protest, with many other clubs all facing the same kind of treatment by owners who treat supporters as a commodity and not a loyal supporter.

Steve: “These people are taking tickets from the ticket base for members. The season ticket holders don’t really affect them. And what he’s doing is, I’ve said there’s an algorithm on there because I’m a member. And every time you go on there, it feels as if it’s, you know, you’re waiting.
“And then you’re getting messages online from all other Chelsea because I do speak to a lot of Chelsea saying I can’t get a ticket. I haven’t got a ticket tonight. I’ve had to buy it off a friend. I’ve had to pay over for it.”
Interviewer: Now how much are you?
Steve: “Not too much because of a friend. 50 quid tonight is a £34 ticket. But it’s not just about me. It’s about everyone else.
“I can’t get if I wanted to take my nephew, I can’t get a ticket because what Todd Boehly’s doing on vivid seats if you don’t know about it, he’s a director of it in America, and it isn’t just Chelsea. It’s West Ham, Everton, Liverpool, Man United.
“And it’s creaming off the top skimming, holding them tickets back, selling them in America for $600, 300. And then no offence to everyone. Everyone should be entitled to come to Chelsea. But when you’re a member and you’re from here do you know what I mean? You don’t get, you can’t do it.
“So that’s the problem. So they’re trying to to stick a twist on it saying foreigners. That’s nothing to do with foreigners. Everyone is welcome at Chelsea. It’s just that the membership has been skimmed.
“So, basically, effectively, you haven’t it’s no point being a member. You might as well just have a lucky dip. Is it the same with you boys? Have you got a ticket?
Other fan: Yeah well, just about.
Steve: Just about.
Other fan: Just about.
Steve: Have you had to beg?
Other fan: Yeah. Beg for it.
Steve: See, I mean, listen. Beg for it. It’s terrible. You know what I mean?
Other fan: Well worded, Steve.

The game saw Chelsea produce second-half turnaround to beat West Ham on Graham Potter’s return; Jarrod Bowen had the visitors in front during first half; before Pedro Neto levelled for Chelsea then Cole Palmer saw his effort turned in by West Ham defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
West Ham manager Graham Potter told Sky Sports:
“The spirit of the team was fantastic. We gave everything. It was relatively even in terms of chances but we come away with nothing in terms of the result but there was lots to be positive about.
“You look at the second half. They had to make some substitutions. We were doing well but we couldn’t quite hang on and we had a real big chance at the end to take a point.
“The second one is a deflection. We have to focus on what we did well and the spirit and performance, our supporters appreciated the performance of the team.
“The shape of the team was really good. You need a bit of luck, we felt unfortunate with the lead-up to the first goal but it wasn’t to be.
“The understanding of what we want to do is there so we have to build on that.”
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca told Sky Sports:
“Huge. It was a tough game, especially mentally. It’s never easy when teams wait and sit back, you need to be patient. There is no space. We shot more than 10 times in the first half and then they score.
“Second half we come back. Overall, I think we completely deserved to win the game.”
On his influential subs: “It’s always about the players, not the manager. Some games we decide to make changes late, some games early. It’s the feeling we have during the game.”
On the race for top four: “It’s big. Hopefully we can be there until the end. It’s an important statement.”
Twitter users reacted as a Chelsea fan slams Todd Boehly during a protest ahead of the West Ham game…
@HWick_Chris: This chap is totally correct. We are mrmbers at Chelsea, didn’t miss a home game in any competition for a decade before Clearlake. Managed to get a ticket for one game in 2 seasons. Tickets where we used to sit now £160. Last season some tickets were £5k. Fans don’t matter.
@commercialkid: Well said my friend. I’m a season ticket holder at spurs. When the open the tickets to the public. Within 30 minutes the best seats are gone. I know members get first choice but so many Koreans are there and you can’t tell me their public buyers.
@jasonvoak: Totally agree with him.. it’s getting to the point I’m thinking about not renewing next season I’ve loyalty points i can’t use too.
@tomphillips1905: Big up Stevie for saying how it is!
@bashy_1986: Same at spurs to be fair, rarely get a ticket on release day, have to chance it on exchange
@CFC1905Andy: Well said Stevie. I won’t be renewing my membership this year and I’ve had a membership since they first rolled out. No loyalty from the club to the fans that kept them going in the dark times
@ad_sharps: Same as Villa now. I’m a season ticket holder & my 6yr old lad who isnt has no chance of joining me unless i sell my seat back to the club & then buy corperate for me & my lad. I’ve done this twice this season & its cost me 75% of my season ticket value. Young Villa fans suffer.
@jmk93: It’s disgusting, paying £40 for a membership that I enter into a virtual queue to buy and tickets always sell out before I even get a chance to buy a ticket, has happened every home game this season !!!! #CFC
@ShedEndTom1982: Big up to my mate @steviechels10 for exposing Boehly and these rouge owners for ripping off Chels supporters for tickets and selling them to higher bidders. And where’s the crackdown on touting through ticket platforms? CLEARLAKE OUT! I’ve seen so many wankers on here commenting negatively about Stevie paying £50 for a £34 ticket from a ST holder mate. Give it a f’ing rest! At least he was there protesting against these owners ripping off our supporters! What were you doing? Take a look at yourselves ffs! We’re all supposed to be Chels!
@GaryRowe91: Everything he’s saying is spot on and it’s happening at most Premier League clubs. His ‘friend’ is a cunt as well though.
@tommyhewitt95: See it every week, currently got 60+ loyalty points as a member and couldn’t even get Southampton at home tickets
@ROTS1882: The Premier League’s silent problem is the skimming of members’ allocated tickets, which are then resold at inflated prices to international fans for profit. While international supporters have always traveled for games—and there’s nothing wrong with that—the past three years have seen a sharp rise in transient fans at every stadium, every match. This shift is causing frustration among paying members, who now struggle to access tickets despite their memberships. Even those who do secure seats are noticing a growing disconnect between the crowd and the club. For clubs, there’s little incentive to address this issue—it allows them to quietly push ticket prices higher without direct accountability.
@Stumc10: Exactly the same an man united, I’ve been taking my daughter for 5 years but now they want £66 per ticket with no concessions, we’ve had to miss the last 6 matches, and funnily enough they’ve lost 5 of them so I hope Jim Ratcliffe is proud of the empty seats
@JohnHann0404: 100% correct. The ticketing system at Chelsea, and from what I hear many many other clubs is absolutely corrupted to cheat real fans, local fans, club members out of getting tickets in favour of overseas, high paying tourists who will come to the grounds and spend more on the shop, restaurants etc. it’s undeniably true.
