Carabao Cup Semi Final Draw

The Semi Final draw for the Carabao Cup was made tonight after the Quarter Final matches were played out over the last two days.

Aston Villa came out 5-0 winners against a Liverpool team that was the youngest ever side with the senior side out in Qatar for the Club World Cup. Goalscorers: – Hourihane (14′), Boyes (17′ og), Kodjia (37′, 45′), Wesley (90+2′).

Manchester City also went through after they edged out an Oxford side that kept on fighting back, Taylor stunned in the opening few seconds of the first half to cancel out Cancelo’s opener. However a double from Sterling made the scoreline look more comfortable than it really was.

Everton took Leicester to penalties after coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. Maddison (26′) put the Foxes one up before Evans (29′) doubled. However their work was undone after quality second half goals from Davies (70′), Baines (90’+1) put them back in the tie. The shootout ended up seeing Leicester come out 4-2 winners.

Manchester United ended the night by also advancing through to the next stage, they were held to a 0-0 draw by Colchester United come half time. However Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s men proved to be too much to handle in the second part of the game when they hit three past their League Two opposition. Scorers: – Rashford (51′), a Jackson own goal (56′) and Martial (61′).

MANCHESTER UNITED v MANCHESTER CITY
LEICESTER CITY v ASTON VILLA

Fixtures for the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals are scheduled to take place in the week commencing 6th of January, with the second leg to take place week commencing 27th of January.
