There was reportedly a bust-up between players and coaches in tunnel after Carlisle beat Bromley on Saturday afternoon.
After the Cumbrians’ 2-1 victory, tensions flared in the tunnel, with those from both teams involved in heated exchanges as they left the pitch.
Goals from Stephen Wearne and Callum Whelan gave Carlisle a much needed three points. Bromley’s Harry McKirdy got an equaliser for Bromley, before getting booked for his celebration towards his former club.
News & Star say after the game, some Bromley players, including captain Byron Webster, clashed verbally with Carlisle staff, notably coach Jamie Devitt, while others responded to taunts from the home crowd.
Carlisle’s head coach, Mark Hughes, said that he was unaware of the specific cause, stating he didn’t witness the altercation firsthand. The skirmish appeared to stem from the high emotions of the game.
His side are bottom of League Two, 30 points from 37 games played, 7 points from safety, with a game in hands over those above them, Bromley are 12th with 52 points from 38 games and 7 points from the playoff places.

Hughes said to the News & Star: “Nobody’s said anything to me yet, so it couldn’t have been much. I didn’t see it.”
Speaking to CUTV, he spoke more on the result: “I thought we were excellent all day long, we could have won the game quite comfortably really.
“Had a few chances towards the end – some balls and areas chasing after us and trying to make things happen but there was only one footballing team out there today and yeah, really pleased for the lads.
“I thought they put a huge shift in. Showed good quality as well, were brave in and out of possession and yeah, took the game away from them really.
“Maybe we’ve been questioned about whether or not we had the ability to put a performance in like that, I think we’ve probably proved a lot of people wrong now. The only thing with it is we need to, obviously that’s the standard set now, so we can’t dip from that.
“It would be very difficult for any team to go up against us today in my view because I thought our general play was excellent, so we’ve just got to replicate it for the nine games we’ve got left.”
On Stephen Wearne’s opener: “I said before the game that first goals help shape the game and shape the confidence of the team and yeah, we were disappointed with their equaliser, could have been avoided and we just, probably as a consequence of the season we’ve had, we had a little bit of a wobble just then but picked ourselves up again and went again and I thought second-half we were fantastic.
“These things happen and sometimes opportunities present themselves to the opposition and they’re able to get back on level terms when they don’t deserve that. In terms of the percentage of the play that they had, they play on percentages clearly, just putting balls in areas hoping things will happen and you as an opposition make mistakes, we probably made a couple but yeah, it would have been a travesty if we hadn’t won that game.”
On Callum Whelan’s goal: “We’re in the right places, we’re getting shots off, I’m not quite sure how many shots we had, 15, 16 I think, so good efforts as well.
“I thought it was a really good performance from start to finish, everybody played a part. I thought they were really determined to get a result today and I think everybody saw that in their manner and their ability today.
“It won’t be pretty at times, other times opposition will just hit and hope and sometimes you can make mistakes because you have to defend those balls constantly and sometimes things will fall for them but you earn your luck in my view and today we earned our luck, we deserved to win today.
“Really pleased for everybody, I thought it was a huge effort and we need more of the same on Tuesday.
“We’ve just got to pick it up from where we left off and take the game away from MK. We’re more than capable of doing that.
“We’ve got an opportunity to do something special if we grasp the opportunity to play like we did today. I think, as I said, teams in this league, everybody would have struggled against us today.
“I see good signs.”
On the fans: “I mean, in fairness, we gave them more to get behind today. But, in fairness, they don’t need too much encouragement. They were great today.”
