Bus windows smashed at Blyth v Kidderminster and Tamworth v Ilkeston

Statements have been issued after a number of bus windows were smashed at Blyth Spartans v Kidderminster and Tamworth v Ilkeston Town.

As the first games of the 2022/23 season got underway, it seems trouble flared up again outside the ground with coaches left damaged after full time of two matches.

The Football Association (FA) have already announced new measures to help battle against anti-social behaviour in football stadiums after a number of incidents last season.

They are clamping down ahead of the new season, with fans now reported immediately to the police and automatically banned by the club for offences such as entering the pitch and the possession or use of flares or smoke bombs.

Parents or guardians of children carrying out offences will also potentially face sanctions.

Other measures announced included an increase in the number of sniffer dogs at stadiums, as well as more thorough searches of fans, while they called upon social media platforms to remove videos showing unlawful fan behaviour.

“The rise in anti-social behaviour that we saw in stadiums at the end of last season was entirely unacceptable,” said Mark Bullingham, Chief Executive of The FA.

“Together, English football has introduced new measures and stronger sanctions for the start of the coming season to send out a clear message that we will not tolerate this type of illegal and dangerous behaviour.

“It is the responsibility of everyone in the game, including governing bodies, clubs, players, coaches, and fans, to ensure that we all play our part in protecting our game and each other.”

However despite the warnings and threat, trouble is still happening throughout the Premier League, English Football League and non league as we have seen this weekend whether it’s in or outside stadia.

BLYTH SPARTANS STATEMENT:

To the individuals who thought it was funny to vandalise the @khfcofficial
supporter’s coach, you have been caught on CCTV and the police are currently investigating.

Blyth Spartans has zero tolerance for any anti-social behaviour.

The club added: “Might be stuck in Blyth for a few hours waiting for a new bus, but the free pints are certainly going down well!”

TAMWORTH STATEMENT:

Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Ilkeston Town, an incident occurred between supporters.

The incident happened off Tamworth Football Club premises between the Glascote Road and Anker Drive with the Ilkeston Town supporters coach being damaged.

Tamworth Football Club do not condone any forms of violence and a full investigation has started to take place.

We’re asking if anybody has any information, videos or pictures to email us: vc@thelambs.co.uk or contact the Police directly.

Twitter user @Richdcfc wrote:Absolutely disgusting behaviour all day at @tamworthfc. Segregation because we are the issue? Do me a favour!! Joke of a football club, too busy watching us proper football fans rather than your little scrots. @ilkestontown_fc fans a model of good behaviour! We had children on that bus, unacceptable! I just hope the little twats are found and banned.”

ON BLYTH v KIDDY:

@PeterSollis17: Sore losers. Hope no one hurt.

@Adamuddgren1: Name and shame

@KrasnyiDJW: Shocking behaviour.

@jeffsuspender: Whoever done are just utter bell ends, not funny at all when you’re willing to support your team on a long away day travel,name and shame them.

@daveangel1972: Dealt with as you’d expect from a top Club with a massive majority of top fans. Can you make sure the few muppets are locked up on the 20th? 😀

@danhumee10: Tbf we arnt all bad, only a select few like I’m sure all clubs have…

@pudneykelly1: Hopefully they can get cctv and deal with the culprit/s. Not all fans are bad, it’s like all teams have good and bad.

@KrasnyiDJW: Quick action. Well done Blyth.

@RickettsOlly: What a wanker

@foxunicharlie: Thank you Blyth, absolutely no need for that behaviour.

@KHFCMod: Potential prosecution for Criminal damage & banned from watching your home team for at least a season. Great decision.

@robintalkssport: This is a real problem at the moment, ban them for life.

@benshhhhh: fair cop for bein on the ball and dealin w this quickly👏🏼👏🏼

ON TAMWORTH v ILKESTON:

@PaulMillerIlson: We had two stewards watching us for the whole match. One of them had met us on the car park gate. I asked him where should I park? His answer was @ see that car down?” What a brilliant question especially as there must have been 250 cars on show.

@HawkieHawkins96: Opening day of the new season and this is how you get treated? You’ll be made more than welcome to Hayden Road on the 27th 👍

@CardyFreddie: Awful behaviour, hope everyone is ok

@Chapman86Gareth: Just ban any @tamworthfc fans for the return fixture. Simples.

@TomBAFCjarvo: Vile club 🤮

@MrAshJay: That’s disgraceful, I’m sorry you had to go through that. Hopefully action will be taken against the club and made to pay for damages

@i8wigan: Was the same last season when we played them & we have them next Saturday but the sad thing is it’s happening to often in non league we had a few idiots when we played Halesowen in a friendly I’m all for rivalry & banter where we give as good as we get but never that.

@LRbix: What the fuck is going on with non-league and violence? 🤦‍♂️

@bekhowell41: Two smashed up coaches on the opening day of the season, what’s wrong with people? 🤦🏼‍♀️

@YouYeltz: Nothing says “Welcome To Tamworth” more than a smashed up away coach. Disgrace.

@PaulSkillington: You really do wonder what goes through the minds of these cretins. @tamworthfc have handled the visit of @ilkestontown_fc appallingly from start to finish. They need holding to account. 😡 I hope all from Ilkeston got home safe and well. 🙏

@goodson_donna65: From what I saw at the game and in the car park afterwards, the Ilkeston supporters did the club proud 👏

@ilsonquinny03: We was provoked by lads who’ve clearly had there first pint whilst walking out the ground some was waiting for us we walked and ignored them on the way back to the car park so there wasn’t a incident between both sets of fans it was just your fans being scumbags
