Bury confirm signing of former Premier League and EFL player along with 33-goal forward

Bury confirm the signing of former Premier League and EFL player Carl Dickinson along with 33-goal forward Tom Kilifin at the weekend.

After the news of a merger of both societies was approved following a second poll, Bury AFC will adopt the Bury FC playing name ahead of the 2023–24 season and return to Gigg Lane.

The hard work started, a squad needed to be put together, staff members were brought in and friendlies set up ready to prepare for the upcoming campaign.

@steviebury: Welcome to the club! Squad is shaping up nicely so far 🙌💙 UTS!

@EltonShaker: Now this an interesting bit of business

Bury FC are delighted to announce Carl Dickinson will be joining the club for the 2023/24 season.

The 36-year-old brings a wealth of experience including over 400 EFL appearances for the likes of Yeovil Town, Watford & Stoke City.

He’s also got experience at the non-league level, he managed Hanley Town to their promotion from the Midland League in the 2021/22 season.

Upon announcing his intent to join the club Dickinson said:

“Really excited about the opportunity to come and play at this historic club.

“To be able to have that buzz of walking out a tunnel to a crowd again was something I couldn’t miss along with the ambition the club and the gaffer have.

“I can’t wait to be a part of it all and try and get the club promoted. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and the fans.”

Bury FC are delighted to confirm Tom Kilifin as our latest addition ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The 30-year-old former Kendal Town man, scored 33 goals in 44 games last season and will link up with his new team from July 1st.

Tom has also made appearances for Lancaster City & Workington

When asked about Andy approaching him to join the club, Kilifin said:

“Bury are a massive club and I am looking forward to helping them get back where they belong.”

“Playing here at Gigg Lane in front of a big crowd every week, soon as I spoke with Andy there was only one place I wanted to be.

“Aims for this season are to score as many goals as possible and gaining promotion out of this league.”
