Bruno Fernandes demands an apology from the referee with Man Utd denied a penalty in their defeat at Tottenham on Saturday evening.
Sarr scored his first goal for Spurs before Martinez flicked in Ben Davies’ effort to give Postecoglou the perfect start at home.
His side also twice hit the woodwork in the first half and Antony smacked an effort against the post seconds after opener in a memorable Premier League match.
There were penalty shouts from both sides which led to VAR checks – Cristian Romero survived a handball decision and Martinez went unpunished from a barge on the Spurs defender.
Bruno Fernandes says he wants an apology from referees boss John Moss, feeling that United were denied a nailed-on penalty when an Alejandro Garnacho shot hit Cristian Romero’s arm in the box.
The situation was checked by VAR ,no penalty came from it, though Fernandes feels there was no doubt that it should have been a spot-kick. Ten Hag also felt it was a penalty.
Asked what explanation the referee gave for not giving a penalty, Fernandes told Stadium Astro: ‘You’ll have to ask him. They have to start making interviews after the games so they can explain themselves.
‘It’s a clear penalty. No excuses for not seeing, no excuses for the VAR to not see that.
‘Last week they made a big thing for United not having a penalty against us. I want to see what’s going to happen this week. If it’s going to happen…the same show that they did last week.
‘I want to see if John Moss also comes to apologise in our dressing room, like they said they did for the manager of Wolves. I hope he’s here and he can come.’
“ They should start making interviews after the game, so they could explain themselves.
IT WAS A CLEAR PENALTY !! “

Ten Hag felt his side were on the wrong end of athe big decision, saying via Sky Sports: “I liked the first half, it was a very good performance from Manchester United in the first half, except we have to score.
“We created good chances, we had a really good press on the ball.
“We let them run, we had good switches, we had many chances to score a goal, and we deserved a penalty.
“I don’t know why it’s not a penalty. Absolutely a penalty. He changes the direction of the ball, and he’s blocking [the goal], his hand is right above. But you have to accept it.”

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou: “The atmosphere was incredible. The supporters were outstanding. The energy they created from the first whistle was brilliant. In the first half, we looked a bit nervous, a bit edgy for the first half hour or so and fortunate to be in the game. We were giving the ball away cheaply. But it’s not surprising, it was a real young team we’re putting out there. But there were encouraging signs at end of first half. We settled them down at half-time. They came out with great energy, scored the goal and didn’t stop from there.
“There were elements in the second half where we showed the kind of team we want to be. But six weeks into my tenure [these first two games] weren’t going to be complete performances but you want sprouts of growth of the team we want to be and there was that and resilience too. We could have gone into our shells in second half but if anything we got more brave.
“We don’t play to give the opposition chances. You don’t want it to happen by design but I thought it was great Vicario made a couple of saves today, great for his confidence. We want to entertain but by playing football that brings success.”
Here’s how fans reacted as Bruno Fernandes demands an apology from the referee with Man Utd denied a penalty in defeat at Tottenham…
@OmoyeleBenedict: But wolves didn’t deserve a penalty against you last week? That’s how it feels
@CFC_Hamz: So did Wolverhampton. Doesn’t feel good when it happens to you, huh?
@JWcryptic23: Stop being salty, we was shocking today
@nick_davison10: Now you know how Wolves were feeling after Monday night.. 😂
@JJxEdmAth: How can someone that upholds the laws of football not apply the laws of football here? Romero’s arm is stretched away from his body and stops a shot going on target it’s literally a penalty by the law
@_GavRoberts: Should’ve been a penalty, but that doesn’t excuse the performance – we were dreadful and deserved to lose. Can’t pick that front 3 again next weekend. Need attackers who are prepared to pass the ball rather than constantly trying to beat 5 defenders before having a shot.
@Nathan_P98: Clown. But you didn’t think that one for wolves was a penalty. Yesterday wouldn’t have been overturned if the referee had given it, however, they can not be giving penalties for such incidents if they didn’t for the LFC vs CFC game last week, which was near enough identical
@KieranBatham: So this week he wants to moan despite on Monday bullshitting everyone saying it wasn’t a penalty against wolves, karma
@1892RedsTV: I mean the cheek of it They literally laughed in Wolves’ face with the referees when they were denied a penalty at Old Trafford. Not so nice is it Ole Ten Haag
@marty_sikora: He’s so fucking unlikeable
@scottpcollins Oh. Kinda like how Wolves deserved a penalty last week when your boy Onana murdered that Wolves player in the box? Essentially robbing them of a chance at getting a point. This dude blows.
