Bradford City announce player’s new contract with hilarious WWE video

Bradford City decided to announce a player’s new contract with a hilarious WWE video days before the summer transfer window opens.

English clubs are seemingly already planning creative ways to announce their latest deals and it seems the League Two outfit have got off to a slightly bizarre start.

They revealed a contract renewal for midfielder Levi Sutton but in an extraordinary tribute to WWE superstar ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

As seen above, announcing a new two-year deal for ‘The Scunthorpe Rattlesnake’, Bradford released a video of Sutton waving chairs around and attempting to look menacing to Austin’s iconic entrance music.

Sutton then waves his hand in front of his face just like John Cena for no reason, and now the whole thing has left many completely perplexed with some calling it one of the worst things they have seen.

Sutton, who has scored four goals in 74 appearances for Bradford since joining the club in 2020, says he is delighted to extend his stay at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

“It has taken some time, but I am just glad it is now done. I cannot wait to get going for the new season and get this stadium full and rocking again,” he said.

“I have enjoyed every second of being here so far. The supporters have been great with me, and I think that is what you want as a player, for the fans to take to you.

“Leaving here with what I have done, it would have been a failure. I think I have done well personally, but as a project we have not achieved, so I did not want to leave.

“My plans when arriving two years ago were to help get this club into League One. Now, we have another chance to do that and, with the squad and manager we have, we are more than capable.

“I am excited for next season and to see what it brings. This club is too big to be in League Two, and we have got to take it to the next level.”
