Bolton Wanderers fans have been mocked for their ‘forced limbs’ celebrating a goal against Salford City in a friendly over the weekend.
A brilliant finish from Callum Hendry opened the scoring for the Ammies on 50 minutes, faking a shot, beat his defender and placed the ball past the Bolton keeper.
George Thomason then got the leveller on 73 minutes, hitting from distances with a deflection putting it in, before Aaron Morley bagged a late winner at the back post.
A video of a group of lads in the away end surfaced on social media, but it’s since got a fair bit of cheeky reaction, getting hundreds of comments and thousands of likes in the process.

Salford head coach Neil Wood said post-match: “It was a really good workout I thought they were really good the first 10 minutes, really sharp and probably could have been a goal ahead but I thought once we got to grips with what they were doing a little bit and changed the way we pressed it I thought we gave a good account of ourselves.
“We played some really good football at times, nice goal, possibly if Conor Mac scores that second goal it would be one of the best goals you’ll see in all pre-season.
“It becomes difficult once Luke Garbutt goes off and we’re down to 10-men. Both teams were in agreement we could have put another man back on but we’re going to play by EFL rules so that stopped that for us and made it hard for us, but also a good exercise, we’ve got to be ready to play with 10 men if something like that happens in the season.
“The bonus for me is there’s a core of the group together from last season so it’s not been starting all over again, it’s been adding the quality to complement what we have and continuing on from what we left off with and making it better. The new guys have fit in really well, we’ve got a good squad that has really welcomed them and they’re fitting in well. The last two or three games they’ve been finding their feet on the pitch positionally, how we want to play and just getting used to playing with new team mates.
“We’ve had a really good pre-season so far, the hardest thing has been building up the minutes. Everyone wants to start, everybody wants to play 90 minutes by this point so that’s been the difficult challenge for us. We were due to play Plymouth on Tuesday but we’re not anymore and we’re turning that into an in-house squad game so that we can get 80, 90 minutes into everybody and do a bit of work, coach it at the same time, so hopefully by next Saturday we play Fylde we can get the last bit of minutes then we’re into the season.”
Bolton boss Ian Evatt said: “Salford are a really good team and they asked us some questions. It’s nice to come from behind away from home and show some resilience, because we’re going to need to do that in the season at times.
“Salford do lots of good things in possession and are really well coached by Neil.
“I like the way they play. We started the game really fast and well and missed some chances where really the game should be over. But it wasn’t and we had to show a bit of resilience.
“We gave away another sloppy goal, which we’ve done too often in pre-season. But what we did do was show some character to come back and dominate the last half hour.
“I know they went down to 10 (due to injury) with 10-15 minutes to go but I thought the game was starting to turn and it was nice to get a victory. Winning is a good habit to get into.”

“From our perspective, just once again it’s about being more ruthless and clinical,” he added.
“We know goals change games and we should have been out of sight. We’ll back them to score them when it matters.
“For now, it’s still about progression and fitness and, for me, from a player’s perspective that was the most educational game we’ve had in pre-season.
“It’s another step towards our end of goal of being ready for Lincoln on August 5th.”
“It’s doesn’t look too serious although, obviously, at this late stage of pre-season it’s not ideal,” confirmed Evatt on Bodvarsson and his hamstring strain.
“It’s disappointing when you pick up little niggles and knocks at this stage of pre-season. We wanted to avoid them as much as we possibly can, but these things happen in football.”
