Bolton boss Ian Evatt speaks on the touchline ‘bust up’ with Morecambe’s Derek Adams after a fiery encounter both on and off the pitch.
Trotters substitute Jon Dadi Bodvarsson found a stoppage-time equaliser to earn his side a much needed point to keep their playoffs hopes just about alive.
Cole Stockton thought his 41st-minute strike was enough to earn the Shrimps a first-ever win over Bolton, however up came Icelandic striker Bodvarsson who scored for a second successive game in the third minute of added time.
Bolton had plenty of chances to score more throughout the game, with Dion Charles hitting the crossbar and also put another effort wide of Trevor Carson’s right-hand post.
Shrimps; Derek Adams was booked by referee Chris Sarginson with Bolton boss Ian Evatt lucky not to also get a yellow for appearing to shove his opposite number as fourth official Aaron Jackson struggled to control the technical areas.

Ian Evatt defended his flare up on the touchline, and claimed that Adams had man-handled one of his players after a foul by Liam Gibson on Will Aimson close to the dugout, reports Bolton News.
“I guess that’s what they want,” said the manager, after being asked if Morecambe had managed to get ‘under the skin’ of his side. “We just wanted to protect our own. That’s all we want.
“We want it to be a competitive football match and that’s as far as it goes really. I won’t stand for anybody handling my players.
“He was booked for that, and entering our technical area. But look, what’s said and what’s happened in the technical area should really stay in there. We really shouldn’t be precious about it so it is what it is. I’ll protect my own and he’ll protect his own and that’s the game, that’s football.
“But probably we became too emotional, especially after the goal that they scored. We got embroiled in some of the spoiling tactics when, really, we should have stayed calm and composed and just carried on doing what we’re doing, because what we’re doing was really good.”
Derek Adams insists Morecambe “deserved the three points” following their 1-1 draw with Bolton.
“We deserved the three points, there’s no doubt about it,” said the Morecambe chief. “We were the team who created the best opportunities in the game.
“I think Cars (Trevor Carson) has made one save on the night. The performance was excellent, we played well and created some really good openings.
“It was a strong performance from the whole team – defensively we limited Bolton to very few opportunities and we created some really big moments in the game.
“The goal Cole Stockton got was from our press and the defenders as well showed really good shape. We should have gone 2-0 up, we had a number of chances.”
Adams called the incident “a really bad challenge” and insists his side should have had a spot-kick.
He added: “We’ve had a stonewall penalty kick not given at 1-0. I think the referee has to see that it is a penalty.
“I don’t know if they thought they had to send the player off because he was sliding in. It’s a really bad challenge from their player.
“Connolly is in full momentum, takes the ball past him and gets wiped out. I don’t understand why the penalty hasn’t been given.
“A lot of decisions didn’t go for us tonight, I thought that Bolton got a lot of decisions going their way for whatever reason.”
