The Tykes say they are to work openly with the Welsh side in response to anti-discrimination announcements made at Oakwell.

The same type of announcements were also made during Cardiff’s FA Cup match at Reading with the Bluebirds demanding an apology from the Royals.
After the alleged incident a few months ago, the Royals said they would review their match-day protocol but stood behind a decision to report Cardiff fans for ‘discriminatory chanting.’
Police arrested four of those supporters for “alleged racially aggravated abuse”, though all ended up being released under investigation.
In a statement on their website, Barnsley said: “Following two anti-discrimination announcements responding to two separate incidents at Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Cardiff City, Barnsley FC has issued the following statement.
“The first announcement related to an isolated incident in the South Stand, reported by Barnsley FC supporters towards the end of the first half. Stewards were deployed to the specific area.
“No further reports were made however a comprehensive investigation is now underway.
“Any form of discrimination is wholly unacceptable and will not be tolerated at Oakwell. We will take the strongest possible action against any individual found to be behaving in such a manner.
“The second announcement relates to a discriminatory chant sung by Cardiff City supporters, reported in the second half. Barnsley FC will work openly with Cardiff City on this matter.”
Fans gave their reaction as Barnsley investigate chants sung by Cardiff fans…
I sit in the family stand and after two minutes the Cardiff fans were singing “we know what we are, we know what we are, sheep shagging bastards, we know what we are”. I’m happy to speak to FA officials if they exist

The biggest crime is how shit the chant actually is

Cardiff fans have just sang, unsolicited:
Sheep shagging bastards, we know what we are
No chants from the home fans to suggest this— Carl (@NowSwerve) March 7, 2020

Here we go again. English can’t take what they dish out. ? Nothing further came of Reading. And it won’t here either. Standard attempt to slander the club.

They called us sheep shaggers. We did the same. Move on.
— Doeboy (@DoeAndrew) March 7, 2020
Apologies on behalf of @BarnsleyFC. We recently class anything as discriminatory. This has become a regular occurance at oakwell, where snowflakes are now dictating the club. I personally found your sheep songs amusing… Keep shagging boys ? Congrats on the win
