Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley break strict coronavirus rules according to reports emerging late on Saturday night.
The duo are said to have broke strict Covid-19 rules on Saturday with a day of partying with video footage showing the pair at a restaurant in London’s Mayfair.
The Sun, who have been slammed by fans online, report that they are seen in a crowded restaurant with other ‘partygoers’ who are in breach of the Tier 2 rule which states “you must not socialise with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place”.

Grealish, who has previously broke lockdown guidelines, joined team-mate Barkley to celebrate his 27th birthday.
Witnesses saw their group downing champagne, vodka and beer at Bagatelle restaurant from around 3pm and into late evening.
One diner said: “You wouldn’t have thought there was a global health pandemic going on. They were arrogantly partying without a care.
“Staff wore masks but Grealish and Barkley didn’t.”
One clip, which bizarrely hasn’t been posted by The Sun, shows Barkley seemingly having a row with another man.
Others show him high-fiving and hugging others inside the restaurant, while Grealish is seen dancing and then sat talking to two women at a table.
Villa’s Premier League match against Newcastle on Friday was called off because of a Covid outbreak in the opposition’s camp. So the players took advantage of it by having a good time.
Villa currently sit 11th in the Premier League table, taking 15 points from 9 games played so far.
Grealish has breached Covid rules before, last month he admitted careless driving in the first lockdown when he defied a ban on non-essential travel.
In March, he said: “I am old enough now and mature enough to know I’d done wrong.”

A representative of Ross Barkley said the player had wholeheartedly apologised for his behaviour and deeply regretted it and would make a full statement in due course.
An Aston Villa spokesperson said: “Having reviewed footage forwarded to us on Saturday, it appears as though two of our players who live in Tier 2 areas of the country were eating in a restaurant in a tier 2 location on Saturday afternoon during a weekend off. They left the restaurant at 7.45pm.”
Fans reacted as Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley break strict coronavirus rules and boy did The Sun get slammed…
There’s a reason not to buy this rag as it appears some can’t read past a headline….

I have only one question…where the hell was John McGinn?

Going for a meal in another tier 2 area is not a “day of partying” – sensationalist tripe headline, yet again.
They broke these wishy washy rules set by the government – of course, it’s been hyped up to the max by a rag of a paper.

Just heard the news about Grealish and Barkley. It’s hard to keep defending them (especially Grealish), when this seems to keep happening time after time. Shameful.

I don’t know why people are so surprised that Southgate is wary about having this twat around the squad…..

Meanwhile I’m here cancelling plans and desperately trying to find places to have an outdoor substantial meal while freezing my ass off so I can have a glass of wine out with my friends.

People defending them by saying that all they did was meet in a restaurant in a tier two area… which is against the rules https://t.co/DqXWBSvDAc
