Another two non league clubs suffer break-ins, during the same week we reported that it happened to Step 6 side Wellington Amateurs.
The latest to become victims of this crime are Southern Counties East League Division One club Croydon and Harlow Town of the Isthmian League South Central Division.
CLUB BREAK-IN: It's with sadness that we can report that the Club suffered a break-in earlier this afternoon, with extensive damaged caused to our storage garage and Club Shop.
Heart-breaking that people would make these difficult times even harder.https://t.co/Z2faynoUYN pic.twitter.com/VFkNyPMkLx

The latter wrote on their website: “Earlier on this afternoon, Friday 4th April, Harlow Town FC suffered a break-in, causing extensive damage to our storage garage and club shop.
“Our garage was ram-raided with a vehicle, and the perpetrators made off with pitch maintenance equipment, but not before they caused significant damage both externally and internally.
“At a time when non-league football clubs up and down the country are having their finances and very existence tested to an unprecedented level, it’s heartbreaking that these individuals can take it upon themselves to inflict even more difficulties.
“The coronavirus outbreak has seen our football season cut short, and with the necessary social distancing measures that have been introduced and revenue streams harder and harder to come by, further expense and repair work is the last thing that was needed for anyone right now.
“The perpetrators were seen leaving the premises, and a police investigation is now underway. If anyone has any information, we urge them to contact the police at the soonest opportunity.”
We know it is a bad time to be trying to fundraise but the club are asking for help. Any donation is, of course, gratefully received.https://t.co/g8MraqHMV6

Croydon also revealed they were broken into the same day as Harlow: “Unfortunately, during the early hours of Friday 3rd April 2020, our Clubhouse was broken into for the fourth time in a year!
“Not only are we absolutely gutted that this has happened to us yet again, but this has happened during a time of national emergency when we are all meant to come together to support each other.
“Now we have another break in and the cost of repairs and further security measures to contend with.
“We understand this is not an ideal time to raise money as many people around the country are suffering financially due to the current situation, but anything that could be given would be a massive help to the football club.
“Please keep safe and take care of yourselves during this difficult time.”
Some better news for Croydon is that within 13 hours of the GoFundMe page being set up, they have raised their target of £500… and it continues to rise above that too!
