Step 6 club boarded up after getting broken into by thieves

Step 6 club Wellington Amateurs boarded up after getting broken into by thieves, they revealed on social media earlier this week.

The West Midlands League Division One outfit said on Friday morning that they had items stolen from their ground, but are not planning to set up a GoFundMe page to help them out.

They wrote: “Unfortunately we bring you sad news, yet again some low life scum has felt it was necessary to somehow get into the ground and break into the clubhouse, the TV, all the confectionery, drinks and materials for ground improvements have been taken.

“Clearly these people have zero morales especially in this current situation. The club has been boarded up until further notice, I doubt anyone will have any information but if you are offered crisps, choc, alcohol, a TV & building materials, beading, timber etc then please DM (direct message) us.”

After being asked by one user if they were setting up a donation page, the club replied “No, current situation with people out of work we wouldn’t expect people to start donating cash to us its not our style. But appreciate you thinking of it.”

The non league club recently had been working on the female changing block, fencing and hardstanding on the car park, pay booth, gated entrance onto the pitch and segregated fencing for players and officials to walk on/off the playing turf.

Very productive day today at School Grove. Lee Mitchell & Dave the Builder have cracked on since 8am and are still going…
