Alex Jimenez has been suspended by AFC Bournemouth after an investigation launched into social media posts which have emerged.
A series of Instagram posts have been posted with messages which allegedly involve the Cherries right-back, who turned 21 on Friday (May 8th), and a female over meeting up.
In the alleged messages, the female said that she is 15. When she then asks Jimenez if he cares, he replies: “Well of course it matters to me. But I like smaller girls. I’ve never been with a 15 year old girl.”

Bournemouth said in a statement released on Friday afternoon that Jimenez has been dropped from the squad for Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage due to the investigation.
They wrote: “AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Alex Jimenez.
“The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.
“As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time.”
When questioned about it by BBC Radio Solent during a press conference on Friday, Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola said: “The club has to do their investigations and see what has really happened. We will then move from there. I hope it’s not what we think.”
Various media outlets Alex Jimenez’s representatives have been approached for comment.
In September 2025, Jimenez signed for Premier League club, on an initial one-year loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the 2025/26 season. Alex Jimenez signed for Bournemouth, a five-and-half-year deal until 2031.
His only goal for the club came against Liverpool in a 3-2 win.

Jiménez said at the time of joining Bournemouth, per the club website: “I joined Madrid when I was seven years old and I was there from the age of seven until I was 17.
“Everything I’m achieving right now is also thanks to Real Madrid, who have trained me very well since I was a child and have taught me how things work in football.
It helped to prepare him for the intensity of the Premier League.
“In Italy the football was a lot more tactical. Here it’s a lot more physical and a lot more back and forth.
“You have to be well prepared physically to play here.
“Life changes a little bit.
“It’s much quieter here. In Spain it was warmer and there was a bit more to do outside of football. Here it’s a lot quieter, being at home with the family and enjoying football is what matters most for me.”
He added: “I’m a very passionate person. When it’s like this, you can hear the fans in the stadium quite a lot and I like it a lot.
“I’m very grateful for the confidence from the first moment I arrived. That was one of the things I was looking for.
“The best advice I got since I arrived here was to be myself at all times.
“The head coach has given me plenty of confidence and I feel like I am developing well for sure.”
After strong performances at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, he added: “I think I played two pretty good games against two very big teams,” he says.
“Those two, at Chelsea and Manchester United I would tell you that I think I played well.
“For me it’s like a dream come true.
“Since I was a kid I always wanted to play in the Premier League. Now that I’m playing in it, I’m enjoying it to the maximum.”
