Championship Manager and Player of the Month nominations for October

These are the footballers that have been nominated for a Player of the Month award…

JUNINHO BACUNA (Huddersfield Town) – Midfielder

EFL state: In three substitute appearances totalling 73 minutes, Bacuna transformed Huddersfield’s month and earned himself a starting spot. He scored the winner at Stoke, assisted and then scored his side’s first two goals against Hull and then rescued a point at Blackburn.

JULIAN BORNER (Sheffield Wednesday) – Central Defender

EFL state: Unknown when he arrived at Hillsborough, his positional sense, composure in bringing the ball out and leadership qualities have all stood out. Wednesday conceded just two goals in his four October games. Also scored with a volley at Cardiff.

TOM BRADSHAW (Millwall) – Striker

EFL state: Injuries hindered the start of Bradshaw’s Millwall career. He regained both fitness and form in October with five goals in five games, including an instinctive finish for the winner against Leeds and a fine individual effort against Cardiff.

ALEKSANDER MITROVIC (Fulham) – Striker

EFL state: A hungry, aggressive striker in supreme form. Six goals in five games for Fulham (and another two for Serbia) included a poacher’s hat-trick against Luton and the cheekiest of finishes to rescue a London derby point against Charlton.
