23/24 FA Cup Second Round Proper draw in full after Chesterfield knock out Portsmouth

The FA Cup Second Round Proper draw is here and we’ve got it in full and live as they get drawn out tie by tie this Sunday afternoon.

There are 20 ties drawn out for the next stage, set to be played between Friday the 1st to the Sunday the 3rd of December 2023, with the winning sides picking up £67,000 from the prize fund.

The draw took place in between Chesterfield vs Portsmouth on ITV1 at 12.15pm and Crewe Alexandra vs Derby County on ITVX at 2.45pm.

Ramsgate are the only 8th tier club to have booked a place into the round, a cupset at home against Woking, with Cray Valley Paper Mills to play their First Round game away at Charlton later on Sunday, while Sheppey United lost 4-1 at home to Walsall on Friday.

The Third Round will see clubs from the Premier League and Championship enter.

Other stand-out results came at the County Ground where National League Aldershot beat League Two Swindon 7-4 away from home.

Elsewhere, sixth-tier Scarborough took League Two side Forest Green to a replay, having come very close to winning, only for after Olly Sully’s stoppage-time equaliser to prevent the upset.

Among all-EFL ties, three League Two sides knocked out League One opponents with Barrow winning 3-1 at Northampton 3-1, AFC Wimbledon won 5-1 against Cheltenham Town 5-1, and Morecambe won 2-1 at Lincoln.

And then on Sunday, National League leaders Chesterfield put in a great performance to knock out highest ranked, League One leaders Portsmouth, with Tom Naylor getting the only goal of the game to send his former side out.

@Craigb_RFC88: Really looking forward to being embarrassed on national tv 😂 #readingfc #FACup

@RussWWFC: Alfreton Town v Walsall and Eastleigh v Reading the two standout #FACup ties, otherwise very mediocre draw.

@AndyClynch: Wigan at home for @ChesterFC if they get past York. Nice #FACup #EmiratesFACup

@GeorgeHogg93: Oh. Could have been worse. Home to Slough or Grimsby. Should be an interesting tie whoever wins #oufc #FACup

@lukeoufcbodily: Fucking take that all day long #OUFC #FACUP

@Jord_M_66: Oh tough tie , Chesterfield away #FACup #lofc

@jtravis007: Notts County away, tough draw that #salop 🔷🔶 #FACup

@chipshopsteve: Oh fuck off #ycfc #FACup

@Matts_Chat: Wigan at home if we can get past York…. what an incentive that is #FACup

@JonStone101: Eastleigh v Reading, top draw that #FACup

@RuytonShrew: Normally I’d be happy with a draw against a lower division side, but let’s face it: we’ll be underdogs for this one 😬 #Salop #FACup

@McFallenOver: Really good FA Cup draw for Eastleigh, hosting a league 1 team at home, that isn’t too far away. Makes up for having Boringwood 3 times in a row.

@NathStPaul: Interesting FA Cup draw for Reading for once. Looking forward to seeing the ticket meltdown.

@lewvine: #oufc. FA Cup 2nd round draw. We couldn’t ask for a better draw at home to Grimsby or Slough. An opportunity to reach the 3rd round and a possible game v one of the big boys. Bring it on!

@RichSeal_: Aldershot v Stockport County – after they smashed 7 past Swindon yesterday, that’ll be on TV. #FACup National League v League 2 leaders.
