Our live stream ahead of Thursday evenings Europa League match, Zorya Luhansk v Leicester is now up, kicking off at 5:55pm BST.
You can keep an eye on the commentary as it happens below, but first, we take a preview into the fixture, lineups, predictions and much more.
In the previous game, Leicester lost 2-1 to Fulham, who ended their recent penalty woe to stun the Foxes; Ademola Lookman gave the visitors the lead before Ivan Cavaleiro scored from the spot, ending run of three straight misses; Harvey Barnes halved the deficit late on.
Fulham move out of drop zone whilst Leicester stayed fourth in the Premier League table.
Leicester managed to draw 3-3 away to Braga to seal a place in the knockout stages of the Europa League.
PRESS CONFERENCE:
Rodgers said after the 2-1 defeat to Fulham, and ahead of the trip to Ukraine: “We’re hopeful that Ricardo will play, Wilf will play, and we’re hopeful Cags can play as well, so that will be a huge boost for us, these guys coming back.
“It will really help us. They’re top players.”
Once the trio have made their returns, that will leave Leicester with just two players on the sidelines: Timothy Castagne and Daniel Amartey.
Castagne is having trouble with his hamstring after a recurrence of the injury that kept him out of the four games before the international break. He trained ahead of the trip to Liverpool but the pain returned, and he has now missed a further three matches.
Rodgers has suggested he will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s trip to Sheffield United.
He said: “I don’t think Timothy will be ready for that game (against Zorya), but we’ll see where he’s at at the end of the week. He’s making good progress.”
Amartey suffered a serious hamstring injury in the defeat to West Ham in October and he is yet to return to training, with no date indicated for his return.
Have you had a few things to say to your players tonight?
BR: “We’re disappointed with that to be honest. Our counter-pressing and the mistakes we made in the first half gave us an uphill climb for the second half.
“In the second half we had a lot more of the ball, but lacked creativity. We made a go of it with Harvey’s goal at the end, but I thought Fulham deserved to win it. They had more energy in the first half and pounced on our mistakes, which was disappointing, and then in the second half, they dropped in deep and we couldn’t break them down. So it was a disappointing evening for us.”
Q: How much credit do they deserve for seeing your system and exploiting it?
BR: “I think it was more to do with ourselves. We knew whatever system Fulham played, they’d be compact and tight in their half of the pitch. They understand we’ve got speed and can threaten the backline.
“In the first half, the speed in our game and the creativity in our game wasn’t there, but more importantly, that defensive counter-press wasn’t there, so the two moments they broke out in the first half, we make a mistake, try to press the ball and it gets played in behind, and then the second one they get out and we make a rash challenge.
“In the first half, we weren’t creative. In the second half, we were a little bit better, but didn’t show enough quality. Overall, they deserved to win and we have to go away and analyse it, and have a greater mindset in a game like that.”
Q: Why are mistakes creeping in?
BR: “You can’t get away from the fact that up to this point, the players have done absolutely terrifically considering the level of the defensive players we’ve had out missing. We’ve been able to patch that up and work a system that has allowed us to defend reasonably well. The last few games, we haven’t defended as well, we’ve made mistakes, and we’ve been punished for it.
“We’ve got to get back to the basics. That’s so important. And as we’ve seen tonight, any team can punish you if you’re not right on your game. If you make mistakes, it can cost you.”
Q: Do you feel like fatigue is playing a factor?
BR: “We’re playing a lot of games, but it’s what we want. We had a very good season last season which gave us European football, and the only way you’re going to improve and develop is by playing games, finding that robustness to go away in the midweek, come back and get another result. The international break, a number of our players are playing at that level as well.
“There’s no doubt that I see one or two players who struggle with that energy in the third game. But we know where it’s at. We’ll make changes again, that’s what we’ve done throughout the season up to now, and in the main that’s worked well for us. It’s tough, it’s physical, but eventually the players will improve.”
