Speaking after the friendlies, Tomasson told RoversTV: “There was some quality moments and some very poor moments, which you would expect in your first game.
“But I think it was a great game to get pre-season started. We played here last year as well against Accrington, who are solid opponents and who make it difficult for you.
“I saw some new players today – the Norwegian boy getting used to things and of course some of the youngsters got their opportunity.
“It was great to see (James) Edmondson getting 30 minutes and the way he played, so in that way it was positive.
“With the situation we’re in at Rovers, where we don’t have the financial resources to spend and spend, we also need to create our own players and we like that. It’s part of the plan and I love to build things. I know it’s a difficult project, but I love a good challenge.
“As we go further into pre-season we need to see more of the things that we’ve been working on, but the main aim today was to get 60 minutes into the players’ legs and we didn’t pick up any injuries, and then we’ll build things up in Austria next week.
“It’s great to be back and it’s great to see that this young team are really motivated and ambitious.
“In that way, I’m enjoying it each day at the training ground and we’re working hard to progress every day.”
