YEOVIL STATEMENT:
Yeovil Town Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Danny Webb as our new First Team Manager.
At 42, Danny brings a wealth of experience from youth development to senior management. As a player, he had a professional career that included spells at several clubs, including a brief period with Yeovil Town, giving him a personal connection to the club he now leads.
Danny began his coaching career with Leyton Orient, progressing through their youth ranks to guide the U16s to a national cup triumph and the U18s to an unbeaten Merit League Two title. He later stepped into the senior set-up and played a key role in Orient’s return to the Football League as National League champions in 2018/19, as well as reaching the FA Trophy Final at Wembley.
In 2021, Danny joined Chesterfield as Assistant Manager, where he was a key figure in their resurgence. He helped guide the Spireites to three consecutive National League play-off campaigns, celebrated promotion as National League champions in 2023/24 under Paul Cook, and most recently contributed to a League Two play-off campaign in Chesterfield’s first season back in the EFL.
Danny takes charge at Huish Park, and we are excited to see him lead our club into an exciting new chapter of ambition and growth. He has signed a deal running until summer 2027.
Richard Dryden will lead the team this weekend, with Danny Webb taking the reins next week ahead of our trip to Tamworth.
📝 Danny Webb has departed the club to pursue an opportunity to become head coach of Enterprise National League side Yeovil Town.
Danny leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Chesterfield Football Club.
Thank you for everything, Webby 💙#Spireites

CHESTERFIELD STATEMENT:
Danny Webb has today been named as the new head coach of Yeovil Town after leaving his role as Chesterfield’s assistant-manager.
Everyone involved with the Spireites would like to thank Danny for his valued contribution over the last four-and-a-half years and wish him all the very best for the future.
Following the news announced earlier today that assistant-manager Danny Webb has left the club after four-and-a-half remarkable years to take up the role of manager at Yeovil Town, chairman Ashley Kirk has paid the following tribute:
“On behalf of everyone at Chesterfield, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Danny for everything he has given to this club. Over the past four-and-a-half years we have shared many fabulous times, both on and off the pitch—three play-offs, a memorable Wembley final, and, of course, a National League championship.
“Danny has always carried himself with the utmost professionalism and has been an outstanding ambassador for Chesterfield FC. He will be missed by the players, the manager, the coaching staff, and our supporters.
“For me personally, Danny is more than a colleague – he’s a friend. I’ll certainly miss the occasional Thursday beer, but I’m sure we’ll share a pint again soon. Good luck, Danny. Don’t be a stranger; you’ll always be welcome at our club.”
The club thanks Danny Webb for his invaluable contribution and wishes him every success in his new role.
Danny Webb said: “Hello, Spirites. Whether you know or don’t know, I was accepted to the job down at Yeovil Town Football Club, which I’m extremely excited about. But I leave with a tinged sadness.
“I’ve had five and a half wonderful seasons here. You’ve welcomed me into your town with open arms, which I’ll never forget. And we’ve had some cracking times.
“So I will never forget me time at Chesterfield Football Club. May our paths cross again. Now go and get yourselves in League One. Good luck, everyone.”
First-team coach Gary Roberts said: “Ever since I walked through the door, he has been spot on with me.
“He has been absolutely top drawer and I will miss him as a person and as someone who you lean on as a fellow coach.
“He is a great character. We have been through a lot together and they are good memories to have.
“Danny has thought it is the time to go on and have a go himself and we are right behind him. Good luck to him. We hope it goes really well for him.”
“I can’t wait to get started…” 🎙️
