Wigan Athletic fans have took to condemn police after clashing with officers at the League One game against Sunderland on Saturday.
Ross Stewart scored twice from the spot as the Black Cats reignited their League One promotion push with an unmarked Bailey Wright securing that win by heading home from a free kick.
It got heated however at Wigan, who are promotion contenders themselves, with home fans criticising police with their handling of those who attended the game.
One fan told us that after Sunderland went 3-0 up, Wigan fans started leaving the ground, went onto the concourse and allegedly were faced with cops storming the scenes and attacking people.

This isn’t the only report, as another supporter backs this up by saying: “46 year old man leaves his seat 5 minutes early to go home, gets pushed left right and centre on the concourse then can’t walk his normal way home, but if I was protesting about climate change they’d let me glue myself to M25, why do football fans get treated different @gmpolice.”
A huge amount of police and stewards were present for the game with Sunderland bringing a huge following for the fixture.
Both clubs have previously criticised a minority of their supporters for troubles causes throughout the last few seasons at their grounds.
