Wigan and Blackburn fans fight in Aldi car park; Sky Sports make amusing blunder with Lee Camp

Monday night saw Wigan and Blackburn fans fight in an Aldi car park while Sky Sports make an amusing blunder with Lee Camp live on TV.

Shaun Maloney picked up a point in his first game in charge of the Latics, with his side putting in what has been described to be a spirited display against their playoff chasing hosts.

The Latics missed an opportunity to climb away from the bottom of the Championship table, however it was a positive start for Maloney – who is their third permanent manager of the season last week after Kolo Toure was axed.

They are three points off from safety, while Blackburn stay just outside the top six on goal difference in another frustrating evening for Jon Dahl Tomasson and his side.

But as mentioned, Wigan and Blackburn fans took to fight each other in an Aldi car park, with footage of it going viral overnight.

The game was televised by Sky Sports, but it seems the broadcaster needs to do their research better after leaving viewers baffled.

Sky Sports said this was Chile manager Eduardo Berizzo, the two couldn’t look anymore different, especially with a 15 year age gap!

During their coverage of a draw, the camera zoomed in on Camp with the graphic for Berizzo’s name as well as the badge of the Chile national football team, with Ben Brereton Diaz playing for Blackburn.

Blackburn were the brighter of the two sides early on but confidence grew with Maloney’s men.

Despite an uplifting start, the game become increasingly hard going, with few clear-cut chances being created, Jon Dahl Tomasson the more frustrated which you could tell in his post-match interview.

He said: “We knew it was going to be a tough game against a Wigan side who are fighting for their lives and who have a new manager,” the boss told RoversTV when reflecting on the stalemate.

“Despite that, we had some good opportunities and moments where we have to score, we have to be more clinical.

“We need to be a lot more clinical to win games because we’re creating a lot at the moment. You firstly need to create chances and then we need to take them.

“It’s difficult to score goals, we know that, but you need to score those chances to win games.

“Creating those moments, all those crosses, they’re goals on another day and maybe we should have had a penalty right at the end of the game.

“Looking at the game, we gave very little away, we were solid and that’s a good start,” he added, when finding a positive in a 14th shutout of the campaign in all competitions.

“We were extremely solid out of possession, [Aynsley] Pears got a clean sheet, we didn’t give a lot of chances away.”

Shaun Maloney said: “I was delighted with the mentality and the spirit,” he said.

“I was really happy with how we played in the first half at times and in the second half, we had to defend. Blackburn put so many players forward, and we had to dig deep, which is what we did.

“A big shout out to the supporters because it’s in those moments when we need them the most, and they were excellent tonight.

“In the last three months, we’ve conceded a lot of goals, and I thought we defended very well. There are things we’ve got to improve on.

“I’m really happy with the mentality of the group, but I know we can do better in the second half.

“The games that we are going to have to defend like that, but I’m really happy with the spirit that they showed.”

Shaun added: “Omar (Rekik) showed some real quality on the ball and had to defend as well. Hopefully, he’s okay, and we’ll find out tomorrow but Martin (Kelly) doesn’t look good at all.

“I’m devastated about it because he’s been outstanding, and a real leader. On the pitch tonight, he was outstanding and made a match-saving tackle.

“It doesn’t look great, and we’ll see how it is. I’m gutted for him, as he’s been immense.”

This is what Twitter users said as Wigan and Blackburn fans fight in an Aldi car park while Sky Sports make an amusing blunder with Lee Camp…

@apgloria: Dreadful game, awful crowd, even the commentator was so bored he claimed Blackburn tried to loan Lewis O Brien from Huddersfield! Maybe that is why he is still at Forest? Woeful Sky coverage as usual 👎🤬😴😴😴😴

@mitchinator1989: Or did we mistake the chile manager for Lee Camp all this time 🤔 we just randomly started playing the chile manager in goal one day 😳😂

@JustIggyy: Man like lee camp 😂

@RIP_Deidre: I wouldn’t be so sure! The lad clearly has a hand and Lee Camp played like he had none

@lucasglasinovic: thats definetly not Eduardo Berizzo

@andyjm_: Lee Camp would’ve dropped his ticket in the queue to get in.

@sufcben: Hahahaha saw that they’ve had a nightmare 😂😂😂😂

@WestSussexSAFC: Wouldn’t be their first time, they got completely the wrong person when claiming it was Jan Siewert before he was announced as Huddersfield’s manager 😂
