In this article, we take a look at when Brazilian retired professional footballer Kaka played against English non league opposition.
Yes, back in 2020, Kaka turned up at an astroturf pitch in East London to surprise six-a-side players and ended up being humiliatingly nutmegged by a Hackney Wick defender who had just come off a night shift at a local warehouse.
The former Ballon d’Or winner was in Hoxton to be part of an adidas promotional campaign and despite scoring a remarkable goal in the game with the Eastern Counties League Division One South outfit, he was left a little red in the face by the Wick full back Jamal Farid, who arrived at a small-sided tournament in the area straight from work because a friend’s team were a player short.
Despite having no sleep, Farid casually played the ball between the 37-year-old’s legs in a clip that quickly went viral online.

Afterwards the Milan and Real Madrid footballer tweeted to Farid “Well done @jamalfarid14 you gave me extra motivation to be 100% unfair” with a clip of him scoring a left-footed screamer into the top right corner.
Kaka’s team for the day, Reach Out FC, came back from behind to win 4-2, and Farid said that he was heading home to catch some sleep before returning to work that evening.
The World Cup winner, who scored twice and provided an assist, said he would give the boots he wore to the man who had embarrassed him, and appeared as part of a ‘rent-a-pred’ campaign in which adidas sponsored players have turned up to surprise teams short of bodies who had messaged a WhatsApp hotline for a ringer to turn up.

Kaka played for the likes of Brazil, AC Milan and Real Madrid before calling time on his career, hanging up his boots in 2017, aged 35.
He won a total of 92 caps for Brazil, scoring 29 goals and featuring at three World Cups, forming part of the squad that lifted the trophy in 2002.
Speaking to SunSport, Farid said: “It’s been a whirlwind last few days. I’m still pinching myself.
“I didn’t know what it was like to go viral – I keep watching the video on social media and I can’t believe it happened.
“It wasn’t a fluke, I tried to do a nutmeg and it came off so I definitely meant it.
“To be fair, after I megged him that’s when he decided to turn it on so I was the culprit on that one.”
When asked whether he couldn’t resist shouting ‘megged!’ after, he laughed and replied: “Nah, I couldn’t do that to Kaka, man.”
Farid added: “I did an ITV interview and someone from adidas came over and gave me his boots. They’re going to be put in a glass box and never be touched again.
“My world has done a complete 180 degrees.
“No one would believe me if I didn’t have the video, I know that for a fact – I wouldn’t believe anyone who would tell me that.
“My favourite moment was the hug from him, it was such a cool moment. You haven’t got to remind me he’s a Ballon d’Or winner.”
