West Ham fan in hospital after he gets wiped out by police horse

A West Ham fan ends up in hospital after he gets wiped out by a police horse, and is waking up the next day in quite some pain.

After the Hammers’ 4-3 loss to Crystal Palace, a West Ham fan was trampled on by a police horse outside Selhurst Park.

The video has quickly gone viral, showing the fan, named Ian from Taunton, getting knocked down the ground.

His friends took him to Croydon University Hospital A&E, where he received four hours of treatment and was X-rayed, report Six Foot Two.

He was taken to the hospital with swelling and a broken bone, but he has been released for his journey back to Somerset.

Crystal Palace’s attacking excellence overcame defensive frailties in a seven goal thriller against West Ham thriller.

The Eagles close to Premier League safety with 11-point gap to bottom three, but the Hammers not yet safe after successive defeats.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson: “Before you start asking the question, yes, I think we are safe! The players showed incredible energy. I couldn’t be more delighted with how my players overcame the slaps in the face that we got after taking a two-goal lead.

“You’ve got to develop an incredible resilience to be a top-class footballer. What I see in this group is the makings of a very good team and a large streak of resilience and determination.

“We are where we are purely because we have good players, the club’s recruitment has been so good in rejuvenating the team I worked with previously. The club can look forward to a platform where they can hope to push forward.”

West Ham manager David Moyes: “VAR has prided itself on not giving soft penalty kicks away this year, but that would go down as a very soft penalty.

“I’m more frustrated by the way we played the whole game. We didn’t play well, Palace showed more quality, played better. Over the years I’ve prided myself on my teams being pretty hard to beat and play against, today we weren’t hard to beat or play against. That is the most galling bit for me.

“But two huge decisions have gone against us this week which could have meant we didn’t lose the points. It’s fine lines at the moment between us getting something from games and not.”

@bginn_whufc: Fucking dislocated ankle! 😂 you ain’t getting home anytime soon should’ve left him asleep in gent 😂

@Dannywhufcfrost: Defo a yellow for the horse 😂😂⚒

@cpfclewis: Embarrassing

@stuartAchalmers: Played the ball ref says the horse

@coster_ray: That Horse showed better footwork in one clip than our players have shown in an entire fucking season

@CloggyL: Straight red for diving. What a bellend

@DeePalace_: What a dive horse barely touched him

@WestHam_Central: Horse is Aguerd, fat hammer is Eze

@Ryceezy: Bet that geezers saying Eze went down too easily.

@TomMiles89: Worse dive than Eze’s

@Heff1895: Police at football are fucking horrendous at controlling their horses idk how no one has died as a result of it they’re absolutely fucking useless. And what’s the fucking need for them anyway?

@A_A_L_1986: I think Eze made more a meal of a fall today than Ian. @FA_PGMOL

@ZaynafamilyMary: You don’t get close to a police horse when it’s working a crowd. Respect the space.

@WHU63512230: They’ve gone upstairs to VAR appears he’s wearing a west ham shirt.. no penalty.

@Heydawro: Get out the bloody way then, horses hurt.

@LeeReyn92459660: The horse went off seriously injured but he’s now in a stable condition

@royceylufc: Waited for the contact. Went down as soon as he felt it. Naive by the horse tbh.

@samprior1882: He has gone down easy there 😆 Made a meal of it 😂

@Dubstep1988: 50/50 tackle for me Clive, a simple coming together. Probably a free kick to West Ham, put can’t help but think the lad has made a meal of it.

@dundeemark74: Hope VAR caught that. It’s a clear trip by the horse.

@GSarRoar: He’s clearly looking for it, the horse has fell for it, there’s clear contact, penalty 👉🏻 his reaction to not getting it though 😂🙈 dollop!

@nathan10wilson: Imagine watching your team lose away then get run over by an horse after the game

@gazelle1985: Don’t get in the way of a horse 🙈
