Videos emerge of Coventry and QPR fans in a scrap with punches thrown

Videos emerge of Coventry and QPR fans in a scrap not just out in the streets but in the stands with punches thrown on Saturday afternoon.

One video shows trouble playing out between two groups of fans, with fists flying everywhere, before the two groups take to running away.

And in another video, it’s alleged a Coventry fan had been ‘in home end box’, and lashed out in anger.

The two clips has since gone viral, getting hundreds of thousands of views across various social media platforms, take a look at them below…

The Championship fixture itself saw Ellis Simms net twice in a victory for the Sky Blues. Josh Eccles added the other to send Coventry home happy.

QPR’s Gareth Ainsworth said post-match: “The first goal is offside without a shadow of a doubt. Their player is stood in an offside position and the assistant has missed it. But we can’t collapse like we did.

“We concede that goal, we feel hard done by, but I can’t have that collapse.

“I can’t accept that from a defensive point of view as an XI. Not the defenders, the whole team. We have to defend better than that.

“I don’t know what it is but we seem to have this mental block at home. When we went 1-0 down it is like we were waiting to concede again.

“I thought we probably had the edge in the first half.

“Their keeper made a brilliant save from Lyndon Dykes and we restricted them on our goal, but we can’t collapse like we did in the second half.

“When we are on top we have to take our chances, we have to make them count. We have to be more clinical. We must do things better.”

“How we haven’t got a penalty, I have no idea.

“I know it is 2-0 at that point but that gets us back in the game and I honestly think we would take something from it because we would be on the front foot with the crowd right behind us.

“But I am not going to sit here and go on about that because the end result is Coventry have come here, scored three goals and won the game.”

Coventry’s Mark Robins: “It was really important that we go for the win. The longer it goes on the more it can dent confidence. The supporters were really good today because it wasn’t a brilliant first half. The players needed the support and they needed to be lifted. The support drove them on and that was so evident in the second half.

“We found space with Jamie Allen and we scored a fantastic goal through Ellis Simms. He took it early and it was the goal that he needed, a great finish.

“Then we had confidence, you could see it. Josh Eccles scored a goal by getting higher and thankfully he took the chance he had. He is capable of doing that, even with the deflection, he controlled the effort at got his rewards for it.

“We then needed to remain in control. We need to be even better, and we were good. Our third goal was a brilliant finish, outstanding. It put the game to bed and we were still looking for more.

“We should not have conceded, that was the only blip, and we need to cut that out. They are not a bad team, they come after you and there is a lot of confidence.

“It was a really good, much-needed, win. Things are moving forward nicely.”
