Wilfried Zaha slaps a ball away prior to Crystal Palace’s second against Everton with a clip of it leaving many baffled and angry.
The moment came in the 40th minute, with the scoreline at 1-0 to the Eagles, before the lead was extended just a minute later, and it certainly caught a lot of people’s attention.
The referee didn’t do anything about it, nor did the Everton player raise issue about it, leaving Toffees fans watching back at home even more miffed.
Zaha clearly slaps the ball in the build up to the Palace 2nd goal WTF. #EmiratesFACup #cpfcefc pic.twitter.com/SHSgpSoJlY

Referee was Stuart Attwell while Constantine Hatzidakis & Dan Cook were the Assistant Referees, Fourth Official was John Brooks and yes, VAR was available for the game yet also not called upon for the ball being slapped by Zaha. Lee Mason and his assistant Matthew Wilkes on duty for that.
The game itself Marc Guehi break the deadlock on 25 minutes with a brilliant header. Michael Olise whipped the second corner in, Marc Guehi got across his man and headed it on and into the far corner.
Crystal Palace take the lead, against the run of play ⚽️
What a week for Marc Guehi! An England call up and now an FA Cup Quarter Final goal 👏#ITVFootball | #EmiratesFACup pic.twitter.com/w7WIofunxL

Karen Carney said: “The momentum has shifted and Crystal Palace have capitalised on it. It’s a brilliant corner whipped in. Everton are zonal marking and when you do that you’re not close to players. No-one is picking Marc Guehi up. He just heads it into the far corner and Jordan Pickford had no chance. Everton started brilliantly, had lots of set pieces and now they’re 1-0 down.”
Alex Howell added: “It can’t get much better for Marc Guehi at the moment, a first senior England call-up and now he heads Crystal Palace in front in the FA Cup quarter final. The home fans are bouncing!”
Jean-Philippe Mateta then made it 2-0 on the 41st minute, Wilfried Zaha got free in the middle, played a one-two with Eberechi Eze, who slid him in down the left.
Zaha cut it back in the middle and Jean-Philippe Mateta guided it under Jordan Pickford. Patrick Vieira was seen with a spree of fist-pumping on the touchline.
Breathing space! 🌬@CPFC double their lead, through a beautifully worked goal 🔴🔵
Is there any way back for @Everton now?#ITVFootball | #EmiratesFACup | #CRYEVE pic.twitter.com/5jKjHDrRlf

Karen Carney: “What a goal! Shocking defending from Everton but let’s talk about Crystal Palace. Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze, all interchanging. Zaha cuts it back brilliantly, finds Jean-Philippe Mateta and he keeps it low and powerful and it’s just the centre of the goal but because it’s low the keeper can’t get there. That’s a really difficult shot for the goalkeeper to get to.”
Alex Howell: “Jean-Phillippe Mateta has got cult hero status at Crystal Palace for the goals he has scored against their rivals and his celebration where he scissor kicks the corner flag after scoring. When he connected with the corner flag then the cheer was nearly as loud as when the ball hit the back of the net.”
Wilfried Zaha got Palace’s third on 79 minutes. It was a lovely one-two with Zaha on the left. His pass to tee up Odsonne Edouard was overcooked but it came to Michael Olise.
His effort spun off the left post and Zaha reacted quickest to slot it into an empty net from close range.
Karen Carney: “Wilfried Zaha goes past three or four Everton players and Michael Olise’s shot just chips up and hits the post, Zaha gets himself a simple tap-in. No Everton players reacted. Game over, 3-0, semi-final here they come.”
Alex Howell: “Unless there’s a dramatic turnaround in the last 10 minutes then Crystal Palace will be in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. The fans sing We’re going to Wembley.”
One of the stranger goals you will see 😅
Crystal Palace benefit from Olise’s miss kick which falls into the path of Wilfried Zaha, who surely wraps up this tie ⚽️#ITVFootball | #EmiratesFACup | #CRYEVE pic.twitter.com/ztwnn2cJHV

There was still time for another goal, 4-0 to Palace with Will Hughes starting the attack as he got it off Christian Benteke and slid the ball down the left.
It came to Conor Gallagher in the box, he spun and smashed it straight at Jordan Pickford.
Hughes jumped on the rebound and fired it into an empty net.
It’s four! ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Conor Gallagher wanders into a massive gap in the @Everton defence and forces a wonderful save from Jordan Pickford, but Will Hughes is there to put it home#ITVFootball | #EmiratesFACup | #CRYEVE pic.twitter.com/TIvKuALXHv

Karen Carney: “Crystal Palace have been far superior – Conor Gallagher should’ve scored but it’s a great save from Jordan Pickford. Will Hughes reacted, he started the move as well and he’s not going to miss from four yards out.”
Alex Howell: “Everton’s fans are leaving and who can blame them? Their team haven’t been in the match since the opening 25 minutes. After the first goal went in it seemed to take all of their confidence away.”
As mentioned viewers weren’t happy as Wilfried Zaha ‘slaps’ the ball away prior to Crystal Palace’s second against Everton…
@graeds79: @FA_PGMOL @FA how many times do we need to highlight corruption in the game before the authorities do something about it? It’s embarrassing. Football is gone mate.
@golfiematt1: Stuart atwell will be proud of that. Also richy should have had a corner as it never went out. Let’s just turn a blind eye it’s Everton
@santo_dominguez: More to the point, why don’t the 3 everton players in shot scream at the referee for VAR to look at it after the goal goes in?? Too nicey nicey, as per usual.
@_____h23: Can’t beat the officials in English footy
@clough69: Come on @ITV look at this and at least comment about it after the match
@DoEfc: @itvfootball not gonna mention the blatant handball here
@toffeepau1: FFS VaR were are ye I’m fuckin done
@Parkykl4: This has to be more than just bad refs… this is happening to us every single game we play
@goodysonx74: @itvfootball @VAR ???? Wouldn’t change the score but where is the consistency… sorry it is consistent… poor.
@willbebbz: Fully convinced there’s an agenda against us at this point🤷♂️
@1878Ket: This is every fucking match fucking hell
@evertonibrow:
I can’t do it again can I? 👀
*don’t do it, don’t do it, don’t do it*
“PUT A RED AND BLUE SHIRT ON ATWELL!”
@Beths1878: What is the point of VAR? Seriously
@KSta1878: We are losing because we were shit but it’s also quite clear and obvious that that they’re going out of their way to fuck us over now with these decisions. I guess it’ll be another apology tomorrow
@efcsam16: Everton aren’t allowed to have decisions go their way.
@BainesOnToast96: Can’t be arsed with footy anymore
@thecraiggordon: @laura_woodsy @ITVSport Why haven’t any of you picked up on this ?
@jessswift__: english officials just get worse and worse…
@lesroberts77: Lee Mason must have gone for a piss.
@EllisBolton2: Agenda in full force yet again
@EdwardMoore0: This is getting ridiculous now
@AllenWeso6: How’s he got away with that 🤦😂
@cafc_daniel: What a cheat
@dazcavey39: Becoming more and more blatant and still nothing is done…. ffs…VAR is a joke.
@MNtoffeeNAV: You wonder why us Everton fans think the league is corrupt. Always getting fucked even with VAR cheating bastards @FA . Can’t even hide it anymore just cause we don’t want you’re shitty super league and stood up for the football pyramid now we are getting screwed. @fa BASTARDS
@stetansley: No pen and VAR missed this some how…. What’s the point? 🙄 Standards off refs in this country is laughable. 🤣🤣 #CRYEVE #Emiratesfacup #EFC
@waynethompson73: 😂😂😂😂 it’s so blatant. How the fuck has neither the ref or assistant not seen it and, when they didn’t, why the fuck did VAR not flag it? Unbelievable.
