Maltby Main goalkeeper James Pollard pulled off a stunning double save during his side’s FA Cup first qualifying round tie against Frickley Athletic this afternoon.
Pollard’s first save came in a one v one with Frickley’s Jacob Hazel, before attacker Tyler Walton tried to score with header over for Pollard to thunderbolt back to his goal line to superbly tip it over the bar.

Come the end of the game, it wasn’t to be for Maltby Main, as they went on to lose 2-1 but certainly give it as good as they got, holding their own at times.
Maltby Main currently play their football in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division, where they sit third.
Frickley Athletic, sit 7th of the Northern Premier League Division One East and are managed by former Maltby manager Spencer Fearn.
Gary McSheffrey, who played for a whole host of Football League clubs, also played for Frickley Athletic in today’s game after signing for the club just a few days ago.
