Tensions spilled over at the end of the game as the Premier League player had to be held back as he argued and fought with his own supporters.
It’s not clear what sparked the confrontation or what exactly took place, although there are allegations that a confrontation took place between Dier and fans in the stand.

In one video, a close up shot of Dier shows the England star screaming: “He’s my brother.”
It is not yet clear what that is in reference to.
Other images showed Dier being held back by stewards before being taken away from the area.

Following the match, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho said Dier’s angry response was because a supporter had insulted his brother.
The Portuguese said: “I don’t think that belongs to the game.
“The game was a fantastic representation of the FA Cup, but I cannot run away from the question.
“I think Eric Dier did what we as professionals cannot do but when someone insults you and your family is involved, especially your young brother.”
He added: “This person insulted Eric, the younger brother was not happy with the situation and Eric was not happy. We as professionals cannot do what he did.”

Fans gave their reaction as Eric Dier runs into stands and starts fighting with a Tottenham supporter…

Dier was getting abuse. His actual brother tried to defend him and fans turned on his brother and that’s when Dier stepped in

Someone was giving Eric Dier stick. Dier jumped in the stand, the bloke ran away and Dier literally chased him up to row 20 and down the gangway. Never seen anything like it
— James Welham (@WelhamOfficial) March 4, 2020
Thank you Eric, you've done well today. This fan needs to get banned for life, please.
— Domino (@Domino82432672) March 4, 2020
The fan verbally abused his Brother and racially abused his teammate. He shouldn’t get any punishment, the fan should be arrested, fined £5,000 and banned from every football stadium

I actually thought Dier had a good game and struck a good penalty

Just seen another video of the Dier incident and he was actually in the crowd helping his brother who was rowing with fans, he was saying it’s his brother and then you can see him drag him away with the stewards.

Geezer bottled it. If you wanna give him shit then give it to him. Don’t run away though. What a mug. Actually thought he was decent today

Totally shit themselves when he goes up there
— Matthew Innes (@matthewi7) March 4, 2020
Absolutely fine with Eric Dier bowling into dickheads giving his brother shit. Some of the abuse the players get is bad enough, but starting on family is out of order.

“I really rate Eric Dier for what he did tonight, abuse should not be tolerated and it was towards his brother, however I can’t help but think that Pogba should be doing more there, and Paul would not be getting away with that” pic.twitter.com/igmV8kpoc0
