Video emerges of Everton fans abusing their own players at train station after Tottenham defeat

Video footage emerges of Everton fans abusing their own players at the train station after their 4-0 defeat away at Tottenham.

Despite it being just the second game into the 2024/25 season, several of their so-called supporters were furious as players were getting the train at Euston ready for the trip back to Merseyside.

Neal Maupay, an unused sub for the game, appeared to take the brunt of the abuse, refusing to pass by quietly, Mason Holgate also involved, escalating the unsavoury scenes by turning around and shouting back.

Maupay tweeted having seen the video, saying: “Imagine another job where it’s normalised to get abuse like this. Hanging around at a train station to scream at men who are trying their best…”

The Toffees followed up the 3-0 loss in their Premier League opener at home to Brighton with an even worse result at the hands of Ange Postecoglou’s side, made more difficult as Everton were without a number of key players.

Sean Dyche highlighted in his post-match interview that he’s facing a “never-ending challenge” amid latest takeover talks, explaining “there is no money” to change the situation as we go into the final week of the transfer window. See more including what he had to say HERE.

Here’s how Twitter users reacted as a video emerges of Everton fans abusing their own players at the train station after defeat to Tottenham…

@afcfttom: Maupay giving it some back, love to see it

@grahamjordan_: This is well and truly embarrassing.

@FollowEverton: They didn’t even play. And why are they getting the effing train.

@GraemeHolroyd: Them bastards going in their last game at Goodison would eclipse every trophy we’ve ever won. Make Us Dream.

@rob_nicka: 2nd game of the season and the scousers have lost it already 😂

@StephenPaul91: How much of a fucking loser do you have to be to wait at a train station to abuse players – just get on with life 🫡

@AmineBenLakhal0: At 00:30 the most scouse sounding bloke in the history of sounding scouse

@BenPanko1990: Grown men waiting to abuse players 😂😂😂😂😂

@DbrayArchi: I am sorry but if you support a club you do just that, there are clearly deep rooted inherent challenges at Everton right now, but some fans of this club appear to be very millant with their reactions and that’s just not going to end well!

@KopBlock205: I just don’t know why they bother because what else was going to happen? Swear they only go so they can be miserable

@jpends_: It is crazy to me that people who go the aways think they can do whatever they want. This is beyond embarrassing, totally pointless and not at all justified

@chrismj1927: Hate to see this as I’m a fan and get frustrated and we pay our money but scenes like don’t help just turns it toxic

@C_Williams61097: So so embarrassing, 2 games into the season too 🤦‍♂️

@Dane99_: Hahahahaha this is unbelievable. Be moaning that the players don’t wanner play for them soon🤣

@Ringo8781: This is the single most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen.

@kierosaunders7: If they are like this after two games imagine what they’ll be like by the end of the season 😂

@vimwallace: Grown man… admittedly little man… behaving like an embarrassing idiot. What a sad place.

@top_bal_view: The last ever season at Goodison and we’re self imploding on and off the pitch. This is embarrassing and fucking depressing. Gang of fucking weirdos. I can’t be arsed already.

@Rossaldinhoo: Shameful from these fans. Who at the club thought parading the team through a public train station to get home was a good idea? May be one of the most imbesillic decisions I’ve seen in all these years of mismanagement throughout the club.

@nickflavin: “The peoples club”

@agbnufc_: Everton fanbase is unhinged, we had some dark times under Ashley but I never seen a clip like this 2 games into a season and heads gone.

@_DannyYoung1: Stupid that, 2 games into the season last thing they need

@Tobybt_: Two games in , no one hates Everton more than their own fans 🤣

@Davidmo87: Match week 2. Never change Everton 🤣🤣🤣

@callummaguire96: Good to see Maupay is fitting in nicely at Everton again 😂

@utvHarry: Everton just need to go down and reset, new players new coach. Relegation was one of the best things to happen to us considering the state we were in, which is similar to Everton right now.

@joshstubbs___: Two games in hahahaha

@wokefootball: Will never understand the snowflakey sensitive nature of the gobshite. Abuses everyone, someone dares to say it back and then act utterly insulted and affronted that it’s happened. Moron.

@spicey311270: Shocking fan base 🐀

@EssexLFC1: Wow….. Everton fans hate themselves and their club

@ethanfowkes: for what reason would any fan do this to their own team

@Alistai09247528: See why Gordon wanted to leave , scum fan base

@__B_I_: Just as embarrassing as the performance you’s were all fuming about. Grown men waiting at Euston to just abuse them, it’s mad. We don’t deserve that performance but they don’t deserve that level of abuse
