A drone temporarily stopped Portsmouth’s league match against Bradford City this afternoon after being spotted over Fratton Park.
The bizarre moment came in the 61st minute with the referee being called to the side of the pitch, looked to the sky and both teams walked off the pitch.

Pompey tweeted: “Not sure what’s happening here. The referee has been called to the sidelines and everyone’s looking up in the air. The action has stopped (61 mins)” before they they updated their followers that the game was eventually restarted.

Denis Brzozowski said, as quoted by The News, Portsmouth: “I was just watching the game and started seeing stewards looking up at the sky.
“Then the ref called the players to the touchline while it flew away a few minutes after.
“It was bizarre.”
At the time of the ‘incident’, if you want to call it that, Portsmouth were already 2-0 thanks to two first half goals coming from Evans and Naylor.
Minutes after the drone was spotted, Bradford got one back through Hope Akpan, however two minutes later saw Jamal Lowe restore Pompey’s two goal lead.
The 70th minute saw Ben Close make it 4-1 before grabbing his second of the game and securing the 5-1 win to keep Portsmouth fourth with all the sides above them winning.
