VIDEO: Crucial late goal see Barnsley fans’ celebrations spill out onto the pitch at Walsall

Barnsley left it very late this afternoon as they beat Walsall 1-0 to pick up three vital points as they continue to push for promotion back to the Championship.

Walsall started the game and had the ball majority of the first half but couldn’t find the net despite many chances at goal missed.

The second half was very end-to-end with quick counter-attacks but with bodies in the box Jacob Brown prodded home at the death.

The 900+ Barnsley fans went on to ‘We Are Going Up!’ with Walsall manager Dean Keates looking devastated.

The result means the Tykes are now just two points behind League One leaders Luton who are a point ahead and six clear of Sunderland in third. Barnsley also pick up their seventh clean sheet in a row.

Walsall really could have done with picking up points today, but come away with none and they remain at the top of the relegation zone, just one away from safety, however teams around them got a game or two in hand.
