It was already a much anticipated fixture, but because it was at Elland Road, we knew the atmosphere could make the extra difference.
The players came out onto the pitch to a loud roar and what was an outstanding display as every Leeds fan held up a free scarf given to them to hold up.
Ready to go at Elland Road!
(The Derby mascot is absolutely loving life ?)

It certainly sent a message to the Derby players, who had started the better until Stuart Dallas found the net from five yards after a Kalvin Phillips free kick hit the upright. 1-0 Leeds after 24 minutes, (2-0 up on aggregate).

Leeds continued to hold their own and nearly got a second minutes later when Mateusz Klich shot from 25 yards though had it deflected off Derby defender Richard Keogh, onto the woodwork and out for a corner.
It was very nearly game over… ?

A minute later, Patrick Bamford fell to ground in the penalty area, then got booked for diving, making it then sixth one in the first third of the game.

The West Yorkshire side were in full control and looked to be heading into half time without conceding, that was until Jack Marriott came on to replace Duane Holmes and slot the ball into an empty net with his first touch following a shocking mix-up from the Leeds defenders.

That was followed up by another error when keeper Kiko Casilla went out 30 yards from his line, missed a through ball and nearly lets Derby get a second.
The first half drama ended with Leeds and Derby level in the 2nd leg tie but the aggregate gave Leeds the edge at 2-1 up).
There was an incredible start to the second half as Mason Mount got what at one point looked a dead and buried Derby into the lead and level on aggregate.

Both teams continued to go for it and if the tie wasn’t already tense, it certainly became a whole lot more.
More woes Leeds as Derby then were given a penalty, a cool and calm Harry Wilson stepped up and slotted it a different direction to diving Casilla, the Rams now 3-1 up and 3-2 on aggregate from 1-0 down and 2-0 behind on aggregate within just over 30 minutes of match time played. What a turnaround.

Did the goals end there? No chance. Just four minutes later, that man again Dallas got one back and levelled things on the more important scoreline of the night.

Just like many matches in these EFL playoffs, there was a sending off and of course we all saw that coming with how the game was playing out.
The 78th minute saw Gaetano Berardi sent off for getting a second yellow when he lunged in on Mount.
Drama continued in the last 10 minutes as Harry Wilson hit the post, and then shortly after super sub Jack Marriott again got the ball into the net, chipping Casilla and making it 4-3 on aggregate.
As cool as you like ?
Jack Marriott has just scored his second goal of the game to put @dcfcofficial on the brink of a @SkyBetChamp play-off final…?

Scott Malone had his night end when he got a red in added time, the resulting free kick for Leeds.
The final whistle blew and Derby will face Aston Villa at Wembley on the 27th of May.
