VIDEO: Atherton Collieries brilliantly mock Mansfield Town’s viral transfer reveal video

Earlier this week, we wrote an article on the hilarious viral video that was Mansfield Town’s unveiling of new signing Nicky Maynard.

It showed – to the tune of ‘Glamorous’ by Fergie – club chief Carolyn Radford leaving where she is staying in Portugal, to meet up with Maynard at the airport.

She got in the expensive and shiny looking Rolls Royce with the roof down and the camera pointing at the customised number plate.

They film her journey through one of the locations they pass through, before she then arrives at Faro airport, she gets out and like a model walks her way through the entrance.

She holds up what we’re assuming is an iPad with his name and background in Mansfield colours and it’s fair to say Nicky’s face said what he made of the situation.

He got in her car, they made way back to where she was staying, then was greeted by owner John Radford and some kids.

Watch the bizarre one minute video for yourself below…

Well after getting huge attention on social media, Northern Premier League side Atherton Collieries took the mickey out of it by doing their own.

The club wrote for the caption: “BREAKING NEWS: Player liaison officer Jo Kinney has met our latest new signing at Atherton train station to conclude the deal. ✍ ? #ConwayIsACollsMon”

Again, it does almost exactly how Mansfield done theirs, but of course, they’re not in Portugal or got an airport, who needs that anyway when you’ve got Costa Del Atherton and the local train station ay?!

Seriously, you need to give this a watch…

Well played Atherton, well played.

After checking out the club’s brilliant version of Mansfield Town’s transfer reveal video earlier this week, fans and other non league sides took to give their amused reaction, with many absolutely loving what they did – check out those tweets on the next page.
