VIDEO: Assistant referee drinks beer after pitch invasion in FA Vase First Round tie

An assistant referee got a few laughs and cheers after he had a sip from a bottle of beer during an FA Vase match.

It came after Malmesbury Victoria fans were involved in a pitch invasion to celebrate their side scoring to book a place in the FA Vase second round.

Fans had dropped their drink onto the ground just before the touchline and the lino couldn’t go past it and not drink the alcoholic beverage.

Malmesbury Victoria, from the 10th tier, beat caused an upset by beating 9th tier side Roman Glass St George 2-0.

On Monday, The Vics landed a home draw in the second round to Sholing, who won the competition back in 2014.

Ties will be played the 3rd of November with the winners picking up £900 and the losing club pocketing £300.
