Update made on progress of non league manager who suffered medical emergency during match

An update has been made on the progress of non league manager Paul Pittuck who suffered a medical emergency during a match in December.

On the 27th of that month, the Stansted boss, also a self proclaimed Tottenham season ticket holder, was on the touchline for the Essex Senior League clash against Saffron Walden Town.

However, he ended up being taken to hospital and he was told that he had been experiencing a heart attack, and will now need time to recover.

CLUB STATEMENT:

Last Tuesday during our Essex Senior League clash against Saffron Walden our team manager Paul Pittuck suffered a medical emergency. Both clubs and an off-duty Paramedic made the decision to transport Paul immediately to A&E at Addenbrookes Hospital where the diagnosis showed Paul had suffered a heart attack.

Paul has now had two operations and treatment to resolve the issues which have been successful. He is now stable and currently being monitored. The Doctors are happy with his progression, so things are looking positive. He will be out of action for a while as he has been through a hell of a lot and his recovery will take time.

All of us at the club are thinking of Paul and his immediate family at this moment in time.

We also thank Saffron Walden FC for their support when the emergency took place. The club will keep you updated and we look forward to Pauls return.

537 were in attendance for the fixture, which finished in a 1-1 draw, but fans were in agreement that the result wasn’t important and it was the boss who was in everyone’s heart and minds at the time.

@essexfootie, who was at the match, spoke about the medical incident at around half time via social media: “Play between @SWTFootballClub v @FCStansted is stopped. We appear to have some kind of medical emergency. One of the physios has raced to the dressing room. This looks quite serious. #ESL

“It appears to be someone in the @FCStansted dugout. I don’t want to speculate any more, but there appears to be some concern, and I think an ambulance has been summoned. Play suspended at @SWTFootballClub. #ESL

“It looks like @SWTFootballClub v @FCStansted is about to resume. A swift recovery to the individual involved. Just 2-3 minutes left of normal time to play. #ESL

Then after the final whistle: “Football not really on the mind of @FCStansted right now. I’ll leave the club to make a statement, but wishing the individual involved a speedy recovery. Another example of why having a good physio is so important.”
