UEFA forced to redo Champions League draw after massive ‘mess up’

UEFA have been forced to redo the Champions League draw after a massive ‘mess up’ involving Man Utd when making the last-16 ties.

They had to redraw that tie following a mix-up with the balls, leaving viewers baffled as to what was happening, only for news to follow that they will do the whole draw again a few hours later.

Manchester United were drawn to face Villarreal in the last-16 of the competition, however this was not possible due to the two clubs having played in the same group.

In an embarrassing turn of events, UEFA members on the stage then drew it again and Villarreal were drawn against Premier League champions Manchester City.

United are instead set to face French giants Paris Saint-Germain with the word ‘rigged’ trending on Twitter.

The Red Devils topped ‘Group F’ ahead of Villarreal by one point, finishing on a respectable 11 in total.

They beat Unai Emery’s side in both of their group stage match-ups with Cristiano Ronaldo netting two across the two fixtures.

Ralf Rangnick would have welcome the possibility of playing the Spanish club again but will instead face the man who was linked to the Man United job following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking in Mauricio Pochettino.

PSG progressed through a difficult ‘Group A’ that included rivals Man City, with the two teams winning one fixture apiece.
