Social media users have been left rather surprised as seeing two non league games played out on Saturday end up finishing 40-0 and 35-0.
The Chromasport Peterborough & District League Division Four & Division Five saw two incredible matches which have caught everyone’s attention by it’s massive scorelines.
Thorpe Wood Rangers FC played host to Parkside Reserves in the Division Four encounter, winning that one by putting 35 goals past their opponents at Woodlands Sports Club in the 2pm kick off.
As much as we’d love to know the goal times, these haven’t been revealed, though it is stated is that Charlie Kemp, Tom Sanderson and Dean Worley got one each.
Lee Barsby and Callum Perkins grabbed two each, Maxim Anderson and Luke Lambert both got hat-tricks, Chris Down scored seven times, and Michael Uff put the ball in the net 15 times in that game.
Incredible afternoon for the first team today, winning 35-0!! ⚽️
Fair player to @PAFC1999 reserves, they kept going until the end and play the game with a great spirit.
5 wins from 5 games sees us move up to 2nd with games in hand ⚽️ 🏆 pic.twitter.com/qKkLUhKChJ

Thorpe Wood Rangers joint manager Daniel Bratcher said via Twitter: “Another win for @thorpewoodfc today. Still have a perfect record & today’s result was a huge boost to the goal difference. Fair play to the opposition who played until the end, a lot of respect to them for sticking at it. Another bonus was 20 minutes in the tank for me ⚽️⚽️⚽️.
“Harsh on the opponent, but our young side that is loving a bit of attention on social media, might as well help the club @thorpewoodfc get some media views. Uffy the animal who does not have social media bagging 15 was a different gravy”
The result puts Thorpe Wood Rangers up to 2nd in the Division Four table, taking 15 points from 5 games played, league leaders Sutton Bridge United have played three more (8) and have 21 points.
Parkside Reserves, who were on the end of the thrashing, currently sit bottom of that league. Prior to the 35-0 thrashing, they had two matches voided, lost 15-0, lost 4-1, lost 5-1, and had their opener also voided.
Meanwhile on the same day of Thorpe Wood Rangers’s big win, but in Division Five, Peterborough Rangers put 40 goals past Sawtry Reserves.
Whilst the scorers of that are unknown, a huge amount of reaction played out on social media as the two non league games end up finishing 40-0 and 35-0…
Anthony Bobby Amissah: This Rugby or footie? 😂😂
Steve Christmas: They [Sawtry] had 8 players with 2 players in their 50’s. The league are a joke letting teams like that join. Pathetic
Peterborough Rangers Football Club: Sawtry turned up, and stood there until the end. Fair play to each and every one of the players. Jamie Plastow.
James Langy Langford: The shouts after each goal “ it’s 0-0 lads we go again” 😂
Paul Cooper: This is where the PDFL needs to change. Those Sawtry players turned up for an absolute spanking. Probably played it rather incurring fines. This game didn’t benefit anyone. Not really. It’s embarrassing. The league need to look at their rules around fulfilling fixtures. If teams do this regularly, ie turn up with below 11 players they should be removed from the league.
Nathan Smith: Surely this is a record? 🤣
Scott Kinlan: How 😲😲😅
Craig Robinson: Surely a typo 😳😳
Peterborough Rangers Football Club: Defo 40-nil
Martin Boss: Did the keeper play?
Barry Johnson: People slagging them yet they had a go with 8 players. Good on them. I forgot everyones a professional playing Saturday peterborough league
Michael Earlington: Wow 😳
Michael Gibbons: Be embarrassed to announce…. just how
Shakeel Walker: Ruthless. Love it
Joe Duffy: Thats fucking ridiculous!
Elizabeth Rankin: Oh my… well done all 💯
@longest90: Think you’d be a billionaire if you put a score on Over 39.5 Goals
@ochesson1: I’ve seen a 27, 35 and now a 40-0 game. What is the fucking point
@vicki_burto: Absolutely despise shite like this. Ridiculous score line that has nothing to do with how performance and all to do with the gulf in ability. And my biggest hate with stuff like this is: “fair play to the opposition who kept going until the end”. They didn’t really did they?
@claydonultras: You know the big twatty centre back clapped his hands twice and yelled “it’s 0-0 boys” when the 29th went in 🙄
@Dines_11: Don’t understand the comments against Thorpe wood. Hardly like you’ve picked your league and opponents. Anyone who wins 35-0 would be happy about it and I can imagine that it wouldn’t have been a rubbing in the nose of the opposition seeing the team sheet as there is good lads
@FcRockpoint: 35 nil bloody hell something wrong going on in that league especially if another team won 40 nil aswell 👀👀
@bydog87: Michael uff is popping bottles in a club somewhere with his goal bonus
@SpringhillBlues: Hate seeing results like this, not taking it away from the team that scored 35 goals but on a personal level don’t like seeing it.
There is no bragging.
Another result from the same league was 40-0 today.
