Trouble after QPR v Luton Town on Friday night sees fights play out and one supporter placed into a coma as police launch an investigation.
One fan is said to have suffering serious head injuries following the Championship clash which saw Queens Park Rangers come out 2-0 winners.
Police covering the game discovered the injured 52 year old man in Shepherd’s Bush, West London, at around 9:50pm.
A Facebook post was written, saying: “Vee Rourke 12 m Did anyone go to Luton game last night? If so did you see the incident outside the ground approximately 9:40/9:50pm? My husband has been seriously injured and in a coma, we currently don’t know how this is going to go but If anybody witnessed the incident or has footage please let me know or call crime stoppers.”
He was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury and remains in a life-threatening condition.
His family have been informed and there have been no arrests made so far.
The Met believe the man was assaulted but are not sure whether he was caught up in “disorder” after the game.
It got heated at Loftus Road as supporters complained about bottles being chucked at rival fans as they left the ground.
One tweeted: “If I’d known the rivalry between QPR and Luton was that intense I would not have gone last night.
“Unbelievable scenes after the game. Shocking stuff. Like being in an 80s football hooliganism film.”
Police are now appealing for anyone who saw any disorder or know how the man was injured to come forward.
Detective Constable Arrash Faghihi said: “This man sustained a serious head injury, and it is vital that we make contact with witnesses quickly.
“The area was extremely busy after the match and there will undoubtedly be many people with information that will assist police. I need them to get in touch as detectives work to build a complete picture of what happened on Friday night.”
Anyone with information can call police on 101, ref 7888/19nov.
QPR STATEMENT:
THE club are working with the Metropolitan Police in an appeal for witnesses after a man was found injured in Uxbridge Road following our game with Luton Town on Friday evening.
At around 21:50hrs on 19th November, officers on duty following our Championship match with the Hatters came across a man suffering a serious head injury.
The 52-year-old man, who is from the Luton area, was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. He remains in a life-threatening condition and his family has been informed.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish how the man sustained the head injury. At this early stage the Met Police believe he may have been assaulted, or otherwise caught up in disorder after the match, in the area of Uxbridge Road near the junction with Davenport Road.
Detectives from the Met’s Central West BCU want to hear from anyone who witnessed disorder after the match or who saw an incident which may have caused the man’s injury. Anyone with mobile phone footage or images that may be relevant is also urged to contact police.

Meanwhile, social media users have reacted on the trouble after QPR v Luton sees fights and a supporter placed into a coma…
@cossie68: @MPSQPRFC what a disgrace that was tonight. Holding 500/600 QPR fans in loftusroad road for more than 1/2 an hour. Allowing all the Luton fans to walk past with beer and food and no one from the met giving any reason.
@dave_barton76: Farcical trying to get home tonight, no coppers in sight as Luton fans throw bottles and attack QPR fans as we try and walk to station so doubled back to get away from trouble and police have blocked loftus road so stuck here with a frightened kid, at least we won, I hate Luton
@bazrutter: Kicked off pretty badly it seems in the back streets worse than Millwall, weapons, cars damaged etc totally predictable, get home safe
@dave_barton76: We were in middle of it, managed to get my son out of the way quickly, why they not kept back after the game is beyond me, this always looked a disaster waiting to happen playing in a Friday night
@rosserthe: There was a group of them on the Uxbridge Rd outside the Bush Hall shouting and wanting a fight with any QPR fans they saw, loads of police about as well
@Gudge62: No different for us, plenty of QPR attacking Luton fans. I saw one bloke unconcious with a big head injury, always going to be a mess on a Friday night and I cannot believe they let us out at the same time as the home fans. Took 40 minutes to get in the ground as well.
@MarkDee84: This is shocking, but the met police also have a lot to answer for. All those police and they allowed the Luton fans to walk straight into the Home fans.If you are expecting trouble, then keep the Luton fans back in the ground?
@matt39728060: Awful news, so sorry to hear. Wasn’t good on the other side of it, saw an unconscious and heavily bleeding man apparently attacked by rangers fans too. Police service was a disgrace to town fans as well as qpr by the looks of it
@KebabGazz·: This is terrible, don’t care what team you support people should be able to go to a football match without worrying about violence and possible death.
@richybqpr1: I was heading towards Abdale Road when I heard what sounded like an altercation and as I turned the corner, I saw a young man run and throw a bottle into a crowd. It smashed and I just turned and ran. Dreadful. I haven’t seen this type of behaviour at QPR for about forty years.
@IsRedeyes: @MPSQPRFC your tactics were pathetic last night. Totally exposed QPR fans to these idiots. You need to have a deep rethink how you police our club when Millwall and Luton come to town.
@4EverQPR: Sorry not gonna blame police. This shouldn’t happen at a sporting event period. If you can’t control yourself get a new hobbie.
@PeterHamm10: Such a awful thing to happen. No one whoever your support should go to a game and end up fighting for his life. Hope witnesses come forward, there is no place for football violence. Banter yes but serious injury NO
@MorganBrownlow: @metpoliceuk @MPSQPRFC seriously fucked up policing tonight’s game
@bigstevec: @MPSQPRFC awful treatment of home fans before the game, I assume we’ll have to walk miles again after the game so Luton are not inconvenienced
@arn_fm: If I’d known the rivalry between QPR and Luton was that intense I would not have gone last night. Unbelievable scenes after the game. Shocking stuff. Like being in an 80s football hooliganism film.
@PastGrounds: I’m honestly staggered by the amount of both QPR and Luton fans who seemed oblivious to how much hate surrounds this fixture. Its not a secret. @QPROperations and @QPR selling these matches online as fun, family days/nights out means a lot of people turn up absolutely clueless.
