• Newcastle & Villa both in talks with Bournemouth over striker Callum Wilson. Newcastle trying to structure a deal that would include winger Matt Ritchie going in the other direction. Aston Villa also trying to buy Wilson, but their deal would not involve a player-swap.
• Middlesbrough have made a bid for Burnley defender Ben Gibson. (via Sky Sports)
• Nottingham Forest full-back Matty Cash is close to a £15m move to Aston Villa. The player and Villa have already agreed personal terms. (Source: Independent)
• Rob Dickie is set to undergo a medical at QPR after the club agreed a deal with Oxford. Leeds United and Newcastle look set to miss out. (via @Sean_Gallagher9)
• Contrary to reports in Poland, Derby County are not believed to be on the verge of signing Lech Poznan winger Kamil Jozwiak. The player has also been linked with Southampton and Werder Bremen. (Derby Telegraph)
• Despite recent reports claiming Nottingham Forest are closing in on a move for Benfica midfielder David Tavares, local media close to the club have claimed they have no interest in signing the Portuguese ace. (BBC Sport)
• Huddersfield Town are believed to be pursuing a move for Everton defender Lewis Gibson, who could be allowed to leave the Toffees on loan to gain first-team experience this season. (The 72)
• Middlesbrough have re-emerged as the front-runners to sign their former defender Ben Gibson, after Norwich City and Nottingham Forest cooled their initial interest in the £15m centre-back. (Football League World)
• Peterborough United remain interested in signing Bristol City’s Sammie Szmodics, as per a report by the Peterborough Telegraph.
• Derby County are interested in signing Tyler Roberts from Leeds United as Philipp Cocu looks to add attacking width to his side. (The Times)
• According to two separate sources, reporter Nick Mashiter and Turkish media source Ajansspor, Norwich City duo Moritz Leitner and Tom Trybull have plentiful interest in them. Trybull is reportedly set for a move to Besiktas while unnamed Bundesliga and EFL Championship sides want Leitner.
• Sheffield Wednesday are close to finalising a permanent deal for Wigan Athletic forward Josh Windass, with the club hopeful they can strike a deal before Saturday’s League Cup clash with Walsall, as per Yorkshire Post.
• According to a report from Coventry Live, Coventry City man Gervane Kastaneer is in talks over a move to NAC Breda.
• Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is reportedly interested in bringing Norwich City left-back Jamal Lewis to the club, according to the Daily Mail.
• Neil Critchley has conceded out-of-favour Blackpool midfielder Jamie Devitt has a few weeks to “sort out his situation”. Carlisle and Bolton are keen.
• Walsall are still keen on bringing in some new faces to their squad, as per a report by the Express and Star. Darrell Clarke’s side are remaining patient, but still want to bring in three or four new players.
• Bolton Wanderers midfielder Sonny Graham is being ‘lined up’ for a loan move to Atherton Colleries, as per a report by the Bolton News.
• Reading are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid youngster Rodrigo Riquelme according to journalist Courtney Friday. The 20 year old has made one appearance in the first team so far.
