• Arsenal have been rebuffed by Brentford in their attempt to land David Raya, according to the player’s agent (Sport)

• Middlesbrough have agreed a fee with Wigan for Sam Morsy. The midfielder is set for a medical on Teesside Friday, according to my colleague.

• Arsenal ‘continue to mull’ over a deal for Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey but cannot afford his €50m asking price at present.

• Daniel Ayala was the subject of interest from Blackburn Rovers after he left Middlesbrough in the summer but they expect to lose out in the race for him as there are clubs in Saudi Arabia willing to offer a lucrative contract. (Daily Telegraph)

• Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing former West Ham United youngster Sorba Thomas after his impressive spell in non-league football, according to the Daily Mail.

• Leeds United’s chances of signing Bournemouth’s Josh King look to have improved, following reports that the club’s £15-20m valuation has priced out fellow admirers Spurs. (The Athletic)

• Reading look to be moving closer to landing Sporting CP midfielder Pedro Mendes, with reports from Portugal suggesting that the player looks certain to secure a move to the Championship. (Record)

• Former Preston North End defender Greg Cunningham has been tipped to join Bristol City. He has recently recovered from a cruciate ligament injury that scuppered a loan spell with Blackburn last season. (Football Insider)

• Despite sources close to Derby County suggesting the club have no interest in signing Lech Poznan winger Kamil Jozwiak, former Poland star Zbigniew Boniek has claimed that a deal is nearly complete. (HITC)

• The Huddersfield Town rebuild under Carlos Corberan continues in earnest, with Manchester United’s Di’Shon Bernard and James Garner the latest names to be linked to the Terriers.

• Blackburn Rovers have turned down loan enquiries over the phone from two unnamed League One clubs for midfielder John Buckley, 20.

• West Brom are in advanced talks to sign Troy Deeney from Watford after pulling clear of Tottenham in the race for his signature, Football Insider understands.

• Stoke City have blocked a move from League One club Portsmouth to secure Socceroo Harry Souttar on loan.

• According to Maxifoot, AS Monaco are actively seeking to sell reported Derby County target Samuel Grandsir as they look to cut down the playing squad. The Rams are evidently on the lookout for a new wide player this summer.

• Fulham have registered their interest with Bournemouth in signing striker Josh King, according to the Football Insider. The Cherries have rejected a £16m bid from Aston Villa for the Norwegian international and Fulham are now said to be preparing their own offer. Bournemouth are apparently holding out until a club meets their £20m valuation of the 28 year-old forward.

• Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth has hinted that they’ll ‘definitely be one or two’ more signings before the transfer window shuts. (Bucks Free Press)

• Stoke City are waiting on international clearance to sign Senegal youth international Ibrahima Sy. The 17-year-old midfielder, based in France and formerly on the books of Stade Reims, will join on a free transfer as a second-year scholar with a lot of potential.

• Luton boss Nathan Jones has admitted he is a big fan of Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury Hall after the youngster was linked with a move to Kenilworth Road recently.

• Hatters chief Nathan Jones has denied reports linking him with a move for former Birmingham City winger Jacques Maghoma. Wycombe Wanderers have also been linked recently.

• Hakeeb Adelakun, reported as a target for Oxford United and Sunderland by D3D4, is set for a loan move to League One rivals Hull City according to Bristol Live.

• Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant is reportedly becoming increasingly frustrated regarding the recent transfer activity surrounding him according to The Daily Mail. West Brom are linked with him.

• Benji Kimpioka has turned down offers from three clubs as he continues to mull over his Sunderland future – according to agent Martin Klette.

• Aston Villa join race to sign Caleb Chukwuemeka after teenage striker rejected chance to sign first professional contract at Northampton. Club Brugge and Norwich also want him.

• Northampton boss Keith Curle is ‘looking at a number of players’ to bolster his squad in the final few weeks of the summer transfer window, but Cobblers’ mounting injury list will not alter his current plans.

• Hull City and Colchester United are among several sides in the hunt to sign Portsmouth attacker Reeco Hackett-Fairchild ahead of the new season, Football Insider understands. Jackett happy to send him out on loan.

• Peterborough United have denied reports they have had a £400k bid accepted Exeter City winger Randell Williams.

• Ian Holloway has a couple of irons in the fire as he looks to make another new signing at Grimsby Town – although he admits he might have to wait to get it over the line. He has his eyes on a really exciting young talent from higher divisions.
