• Bournemouth’s 10m rated Joshua King has emerged as a transfer target for West Brom before the domestic transfer window closes, according to a report. Everton and Fulham also on his tail. Previously linked with Tottenham and Man Utd this summer.
• Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Fulham attacking midfielder Anthony Knockaert on loan following the appointment of Chris Hughton as boss.
• Norwich are confident of keeping English midfielder Todd Cantwell despite continued interest in the 22-year-old from Premier League Leeds. (Football Insider)
• West Ham United are believed to be interested in Bournemouth defender Steve Cook. The Cherries may well cash-in on the 29-year-old while they can, as his contract expires next summer. (Daily Star)
• Middlesbrough are rumoured to have made a loan bid for Chelsea’s £14m defender Baba Rahman. The Ghana international has been on their books since 2015, spending time out on loan with three different clubs. (Goal)
• Nottingham Forest and Watford are both said to have stepped up their chase for ex-Chelsea winger Christian Atsu, as the Newcastle United man has been deemed surplus to requirements at St James’ Park. (Football Insider)
• Liverpool have been named the bookies’ 4/1 favourites to sign Stoke City and England goalkeeper Jack Butland, following calls for the Reds to find a more reliable backup option for Alisson Becker.
• Luton Town’s hopes of signing Spurs’ Cameron Carter-Vickers look to have been dealt a blow, following reports that he could be used in a player-plus-cash deal to lure Joe Rodon away from Swansea. (Football League World)
• Portsmouth are in negotiations with Millwall over signing midfielder Ben Thompson, according to The News. The 25-year-old spent the first half of the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Fratton Park, scoring three times and adding three assists in 26 appearances. A journalist however reports that as things stand the deal is “not happening”. A lot of effort put in by Portsmouth to sign him but Millwall still see him as part of their first team. It’s that, not finances, scuppering a deal
• Patrick Roberts is close to joining Middlesbrough on a season-long loan from Manchester City, while manager Neil Warnock has also enquired about signing another centre-back.
• Arsenal are strongly considering loaning William Saliba to a Championship club this window, with Brentford high up on the list.
• West Brom appear to be close to an agreement with Huddersfield over a deal to sign centre-forward Karlan Grant, according to the Daily Mail.
• West Ham are eyeing a ‘blockbuster’ Championship signing before the domestic transfer window closes on October the 16th as they look to bring in Brentford’s Said Benrahma.
• Swindon Town coach Tommy Wright suggested the club is chasing Leeds United midfielder Robbie Gotts on loan before next Friday’s domestic deadline. Hull, Doncaster and Huddersfield also interested. 20 year old rising star.
• Adam Le Fondre has confirmed that he is set to leave Sydney FC, after reports suggested that Sunderland wanted to bring the Football League goal-machine back to England, while speaking to The World Game.
• Portsmouth and Oxford United are in talks to sign promising Wolves striker Niall Ennis on loan, Football Insider understands. The 21-year-old is in talks over a new long-term contract at Molineux and that he has been given the green light to seal a temporary move ahead of the domestic transfer deadline.
• Several fringe players could leave Lincoln City on loan ahead of the domestic transfer deadline on October 16. “We’ve got one or two players, if the opportunity came up, who deserve to get game time,” said manager Michael Appleton. As long as we’re comfortable players like Joe Walsh and Max Melbourne are going to be back in the fold [as they regain full fitness] soon and we’re not going to leave ourselves short, I need to give certain other players an opportunity to get some football.”
• Lincolnshire Live reckon Alex Bradley, Aaron Lewis and Jordan Adebayo-Smith are potentially set to depart Lincoln City.
• Sunderland decided against offering free agent Liam Burt a contract at the Stadium of Light with the Glasgow Times reporting the Black Cats felt they needed a midfielder with more experience.
• Incomings at Grismby Town. Kyle Bennett’s arrival from Bristol Rovers has not yet been confirmed, although he is expected to complete his loan move soon. West Brom forward Owen Windsor will also be making the move to on loan to the Mariners according to reports.
• Simon Weaver has confirmed that Harrogate Town are open to offers for out-of-favour winger Joe Leesley.
• QPR have lodged an improved offer for Southend United striker Charlie Kelman, according to a report by the Echo News.
• Queens Park Rangers’ Ryan Manning is still on the radar for West Ham United.
• Southend United must decide whether or not to terminate Jordan Green’s loan spell from Barnsley after the winger was sidelined by an ankle injury.
• FC Porto are considering a loan move for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard. (Daily Mirror)
• Manchester United have reportedly chose against the decision to renew their interest in Watford winger Ismaila Sarr before the domestic transfer deadline.
