• BURTON. Closing in on keeper O’Hara, freed by MAN U. Had other offers but best chance of playing is with Albion.
• According to Le Parisien, Nottingham Forest are keen to sign reported Norwich City and Middlesbrough centre-back Loic Mbe Soh from Paris Saint-Germain. It is Forest that are in pole position for the player with Sabri Lamouchi’s side opening negotiations with the French champions.
• West Brom-linked striker Troy Deeney has revealed he’s not angling for a move away from recently-relegated Watford, but insisted that he can still cut it in the Premier League. (The Sun)
• Sheffield Wednesday would be required to pay a fee in the region of £3m to sign winger Jacob Murphy on a permanent deal from Newcastle United. Rangers are Stoke City are also interested. (Football Insider)
• West Ham United have been backed by the bookies to beat Aston Villa to the signing of Brentford winger Said Benrahma, and become the new odds-on favourites to seal the deal. (Sky Bet)
• Cardiff City look set to win the race to sign Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo on loan. The 23-year-old spent last season with Scottish side Rangers, and featured in the Europa League. Nottingham Forest will miss out. (Liverpool Echo)
• West Ham United are considering a move for Bournemouth defender Adam Smith before the transfer window closes, according to The Telegraph.
• Leicester City have been linked with a move for Brentford defender Rico Henry. Brighton and Aston Villa also want him.
• Stoke City midfielder Badou N’Diaye is closing in on a loan move to Galatasaray, according to reports from Hurriyet.
• Burnley are still interested in signing Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall, 23, even though the clubs are apart on their valuation of the centre-back.
• Watford are waiting to hear from Barcelona about midfielder Oriol Busquets, according to reports, which last week claimed that the two clubs had held discussions over a number of days, in the meantime, the player’s also had offers from other La Liga clubs.
• Watford striker Luis Suarez, who has reportedly turned the heads of La Liga side Granada. The Colombian has already been linked with a host of clubs this summer, but the Hornets do want to hold onto him after his impressive season out on loan with Real Zaragoza.
• Marc Navarro, who spent last season on loan with Leganes, is said to have told Watford he wants to leave and has reportedly been offered to Real Valladolid.
• Portsmouth are weighing up loan exit for fledgling England youth international Haji Mnoga. The Blues will review whether to get the 18-year-old regular minutes elsewhere to help his encouraging development.
• Portsmouth are ahead of Peterborough and Sunderland in a race for Bristol City’s Sammie Szmodics – but unnamed Championship sides are keen.
• Hull City are weighing up an offer for former St Pauli striker Gillian Jurcher. The free agent played for the Tigers’ Under-23’s against Gainsborough Trinity last week. (The 72)
• Burton Albion are reportedly closing in on a deal to bring ex-Manchester United keeper Kieran O’Hara back to the club after a successful loan spell last campaign. (The Sun)
• Celtic have been linked with a move Charlton Athletic’s Alfie Doughty. Luton Town have reportedly had a bid of £750k turned down for the midfielder. (The Sun)
• Phil Parkinson has confirmed Sunderland’s interest in Argentinian striker Mateo Bajamich. The Black Cats are understood to have tabled an offer of around £500,000 for Bajamich, who plays for Instituto in the Primera B Nacional, the Argentinian second tier. (Various)
• Phil Parkinson also hinted that Mateo Bajamich could be joined by Danny Graham with Sunderland hoping to conclude the deals at the start of last week. (Various)
• Dundee United remain in the hunt for James Norwood – but Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert reckons he will stay at Portman Road.
• Former Lincoln City goalkeeper Grant Smith is training with Southend United. (Southend Echo)
• Karl Robinson says he is focused on strengthening his squad after agreeing a new contract at Oxford United. (Witney Gazette)
• A reporter has claimed that two players training with Wigan Athletic may bag moves elsewhere. Danny Butterfield has a possible move to Australia whilst ex-Sunderland man Callum McManaman has also received interest from elsewhere. (The Sun)
• Leeds United have been issued a transfer warning by Hull City boss Grant McCann over reported transfer target Leonardo da Silva Lopes, the 21-year-old has also been linked to West Brom The Tigers have made it clear that the Portuguese starlet will only be allowed to depart if their valuation is met. City previously rejected a bid of £1.7m from New York Red Bulls in January, with McCann then suggesting he wanted the youngster to be part of his long-term plans.
• Watford’s Gerard Deulofeu is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a serious knee injury and is a target for AC Milan, Napoli and Sevilla. (Daily Telegraph)
• Brentford manager Thomas Frank has remained tight-lipped on the futures of Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma, who were left out of the squad as the Bees beat Wycombe on penalties in the Carabao Cup first round. Frank told Sky Sports: “I always speak about the players I have in house or when the deals are done or not done. At this moment in time, they’re Brentford players. The fans will be informed when they find out if they’re staying or going.”
