• Nottingham Forest. Burnley. Joe Worrall won’t be going anywhere in a hurry. Foot injury. 5-6 week lay off. Clarets aren’t willing to meet the asking price, thought to be around £12m. (The Sun)

• Cardiff City have made an enquiry about signing Fulham forward Anthony Knockaert, who was an unused substitute in both of Fulham’s Premier League games this season.

• Watford’s Ismaïla Sarr | Crystal Palace and West Brom have ‘entered the dance’ for £50m player – Made contact with entourage.

• Joey Barton expects Fleetwood Town to welcome a new face into the club ahead of Saturday’s home game against AFC Wimbledon but it won’t be Charlie Mulgrew.

• Millwall’s hopes of bringing Brighton midfielder Jayson Molumby back for another season on loan look to have been dealt a blow, with the Seagulls likely to require his services with Dale Stephens now heading to Burnley. (Sky Sports)

• QPR are believed to be lining up a move for Besiktas winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou. He’s previously played for the likes of Spurs and Marseilles, and began his career in the PSG youth academy. (Fotospor)

• Fresh reports have claimed that Preston North End have rejected a £2m bid from Rangers for midfield ace Daniel Johnson, with the current offer short of the Lilywhites’ asking price. (Football Insider)

• Reports are circulating in various media outlets this morning that Norwich City have that they been tracking Zimbabwe and Charlton Athletic striker Macauley Bonne. Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Norwich City, Derby County, Cardiff City, Preston North End, Fulham, and Queens Park Rangers, who had a £1.5m bid rejected recently.

• Wycombe Wanderers are on the verge of announcing the signing of Everton and England U17 prospect midfielder Dennis Adeniran.

• Lincoln City are reportedly looking to clinch a loan deal for Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson. The Reds think highly of the Welsh attacking midfielder who made eight first-team appearances for the club last season.

• In need of a centre-back this transfer window, Ligue 1 side Rennes have looked at a number of options. Norwich City’s Ben Godfrey is one of them with Florian Maurice, the French side’s technical director, has been following Godfrey for ‘a long time’ and is now reportedly ‘keeping an eye’ on him.

• Birmingham City do not appear to be on the cusp of signing Jack Clarke from Tottenham, with the player’s agent taking to Twitter to shut down reports.

• Highly-rated Sunderland midfielder Daniel Neil is set to sign a new three-year deal at the club despite attracting interest from Newcastle, Leeds and Wolves.

• Sunderland’s hopes of landing striker Matteo Bajamich have been given a boost after the player’s move to Houston Dynamo appears to have collapsed.

• Bournemouth are in pole position to sign Manchester City defender Joel Latibeaudiere on a season-long loan, Football Insider. Luton and Bristol City are also interested.

• Free agent Benji Kimpioka is edging closer to a return to Sunderland – with Phil Parkinson hopeful the youngster is close to putting pen to paper on a new deal.

• Gareth Evans is set to complete a move away from Portsmouth with Bolton and Bradford interested. A move to Bolton was mooted, with Evans keen to return north to be closer to his Manchester-based family. Reports claim up to six clubs have registered an interest in the attacking midfielder.

• Lincoln City have been linked with a loan move for Welsh starlet Brennan Johnson, who is highly regarded by bosses at Nottingham Forest, could be set for a temporary departure after a host of midfielders were signed this summer.

• Grimsby Town manager Ian Holloway is looking at a couple of trialists as he looks to do more business in the transfer market. The players in question are both forwards – a striker and a winger. Two players are aged 24 and 21 and neither are expected to sign before Saturday’s tie.

• Sheffield Wednesday are considering a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dion Sanderson according to Yorkshire Live.
